Scary times for all minor NCAA sports. I wonder if keeping super conferences for football- and perhaps mens and womens basketball, and then making regional conferences make more sense. For example, in Florida there are twelve D-1 programs. All are currently spending thousands traveling across a wide array of states. I would rather see us change who are opponents are than cut more sports. I think that we need to rethink some traditional alignments and cut costs without cutting the student athlete experience. I know that D-2 already uses this model, but I think D-1 would be wise to look at this type of solution instead of ultimately being faced with cutting numerous sports across the board...

It'll never happen. The NCAA has been captured by the advertising/merchandising industry. Higher Education in this country is the goose they are slicing open to get more golden eggs.
