The Beach won in four - should have won it in three, but they made too many errors in game 2. I think that the game scores were 33-31, 28-30, 30-24, 30-24. I could be off by a point or two. UCLA had an internet broadcast of the match - the announcers were great! I wish that every school would do that. CSUN broadcasts, but the announcer leaves much to be desired. UCLA has two guys that do the announcing and they were very knowledgeable and entertaining. McKinney was out with tendinitis in his knee(s).

nice win for long beach. a young team, but we all know they'll be one of the teams to beat in two years.

Great job Beach! But then again, anyone beating UCLA is ok by me.

The Beach played very well tonight. They hit .457 for the match. Scott Touzinsky led the way with 25 kills and hit .488. Everyone played well tonight, but I was impressed by Robert Tarr, and Duncan Budinger. Those two freshman are going to do a lot of damage over the next three years. The only area the Bruins had over the Beach tonight was their strong serving. The first two games were a war, then the Beach just took over.

No offense to you beach fans, but I think UCLA will be the team to beat in two years. All of their players should be healthy by then.

Do you think it will take that long?

;D We listened to it on the UCLA website - need to figure out a way to record or save the broadcast somewhere. Just a couple of thoughts. I have my sound in my computer hooked up and coming out of my boom box. It includes a tape recorder. I can easily record any sound coming out of the computer with that set up. You might be able to easily hook up a tape recorder to your computer depending on your connection devices in the back. Another simple means is to have a tape recorder's microphone right next to the speakers. Lastly, I don't know if UCLA archives it's recordings, but sometimes you can get the "broadcaster" to make a tape for you. You have to snoop around to find out who to call, but it's not too tough. Sometimes you can get a TV station to make a video tape of a game for you. So when they go to UH next year, and since all or most of the Hawaii games played at UH are broacasted on TV there you might be able to get a video copy of the matches. That would be a real keeper.

UCLA does archive their broadcasts and you can re- listen to them. It is fun to hear what the commentators at the other schools say about your team.

You're right about that, mvbdad - it was a lot of fun to listen to the UCLA announcers talking about the LBSU players.
We missed the first 1/2 hour of the match Friday night, so we listened to it again on Saturday morning from the UCLA website. It was really neat to hear them announcing the starting line-ups and talking about the two teams.
