In MPSF play Hawaii swept LongBeach and split with every other MPSF team. Earlier this year they also swept a pair of matches against a very good Lewis team. They play 2 against Loyola-Chicago next.
As far as the match went, UH looked very determined. Even Delano got some huge digs. Nice to see the team play with emotion last night. Nice crowd too, for these last 2 matches. Very vocal.

costas had some really weird celebration moves. even leahey and mclachlin said something about that. Yeah, but Leahy called it the "gumby dance" or something like that. At first I thought he was doing a chicken (maybe making fun of Pepperdine?), but when they did the replay at the end of the game I wondered if Alan Hackbarth was there, and Costas was doing an impression of him.

although I've seen him hit by a few double blocks lately. Azenha is really leaving UH? Too bad. I wonder who will pick him up? He's a VERY GOOD player to be on the bench. I look forward to seeing him play somewhere...anywhere. One of Azenha's choices was Pepperdine, so you may see him playing for your team in years to come. I know there were other schools mentioned that recruited him besides Hawaii and Pepperdine, but, the UH site already removed his Bio. Anyways, I do see Azenha transferring to Pepperdine though. But then again, one of my reasons for thinking that is because, last time a UH player left the team due to Wilton's coaching style, that player went to Pepperdine to play. And no, I am not referring to Rick Tune.
