Has anyone else noticed how important the service game has been in the outcome of a match? The top teams right now all have some deadly servers. On the other hand, when the servers on these top teams start making errors or letting up, the team goes down in flame. Coincidence?

Of course the service is a very important part of the game today, but not every team is going down in flames if their big gun is not on. It sure helps if that guy is serving well. I'm sure its just a coincidence in the games you've seen.

speaking of serves, let's talk about nordberg's.
what is it? i think that he really needs to put some heat on his serves. pepperdine received it so well that they had time to set up great kills. nordberg needs to hit that serve harder, so thomas can get some blocks while he's in the front.

I have a comment on this subject although it may stray away from the first post. Costas broke the UH record of 100 aces held by Yuval and Sivan. But Yuval had 100 aces in 2 years without the let rule. I wonder what record he (Yuval) would have put up for 4 years with the let rule? Any perdictions?

Of course he would have demolished the record. In defense of Costas, with less programs and the huge influx of international players, there is undoubtedly better passing now then ever. Yuval was just on another level.
