An opportunity with the NCVF to current collegiate club student-athletes. We are looking for student leaders! The applicant does not have to be a president/captain of their team, but fits the criteria below. Please send me a personal message and I'll get you in touch with the NCVF Student Council Chair to nominate yourself, a teammate, or someone you know. We are looking for folks who can represent/commit to the following:
• 13 Student reps, diverse across gender, region, type of school, size of school, and team accomplishment
• Commitment to rapid response to email
• Commitment to be actively involved in his/her conference or regional teams and communicate with them (both disseminating information and collecting opinions)
• Commitment to participation in ~3 conference calls during the academic year
• Commitment to attending an in-person meeting at the NCVF National Tournament if their team attends (though there is NO OBLIGATION to attend any national tournament to be a player rep)
• Willingness to provide input and voice opinions on matters regarding the governance of collegiate club volleyball
Message below from NCVF Student Council Chair
Team Presidents and Captains,
As we approach the 2009-2010 club season, I'd like to invite you to consider participating in the NCVF Student Advisory Council. The Council has a direct voice to the governing body of the NCVF and so a position on this board allows you to represent your school, your conference, your region, and club volleyball as a whole. The Council is looking for students willing to participate ACTIVELY in conversations (both via email and phone calls) and make themselves available to other teams in their conference and region to communicate information, both from and to the teams and the NCVF.
This is an excellent leadership opportunity for you or another member of your club who has the time and energy to help out the club volleyball community. The NCVF is extremely interested in listening to students as it proceeds through this season and wants to ensure the students have a voice that is heard. This gives you, the teams, a direct line to the NCVF. Please contact me immediately if you are interested in this opportunity as we are looking to get this committee formed within a couple of weeks of the beginning of class.
Thanks to all and good luck!
Dan
