Hey IdahoBoy...there are NO losers (even from cold Idaho). There have been many surprises this year in the MPSF. It has been VERY exciting, but hard to predict at times. I predicted UCSD would have 2 wins this year. They have 1 so far when they beat Concordia ( I chose Concordia). They have a chance now to win 3 provided they get past USC and LaVerne to make me look like a chump. Good for them...it just goes to prove that ANY team can beat ANY other team on any given night.

Is this a great season or what? ;D

Keeping posting your choices, IdahoBoy...the only losers I see are the fans who won't take a chance in predicting outcomes...besides it's FUN!

What a week! For awhile there I thought I would finish dead last. I was a bad luck charm for whatever team I picked. I consider myself very lucky to be in a 4-way tie for third and amoungst great company. I am also glad we didn't have this last year when vbcruz would have kicked out butts with his correct predictions.

vbcruisin, i didn't hear about the byu player who broke his hand until after i chose my picks for next week, but now i'm POSITIVE uci will sweep BYU (alright boys, now you have to do it, or i'll look stupid).

and where is bookum? no picks from him last week? he's one of the more knowledgeble posters, and i wanna know what he thinks.

Hey Beachy...

I was either an awesome prognosticator last year in my predictions OR all the teams were more predictable than they are this year? I go with last year's predictable teams.

Have you noticed how closer the MPSF race is this year, and how many teams jumped & fell in their rankings as the season progressed? If you analyze the team rosters, Pepperdine & Hawaii should have gone undefeated...UCI shouldn't have been much of a threat this year, but look at how they play well with each other...still do. Long Beach with their young, talented players should have won more games, but due to the new scoring (and youth errors), they have yet to play up to their maximum potential. Look out for them (maybe next year) when the team finally realizes how good they really are. Santa Barbara, Northridge, Stanford and Pacific have awesome players, but some nights, they either play like winners or they go into the tank. Poor UCLA with all their injuries have played a humble season (but I still say, don't turn your backs on them). They could be full of surprises.

I like this season, because even though a team looks great on paper...ANY team can beat any other team on any given night, if all the variables are right in their favor (homecourt advantage, long traveling, injuries, overwhelming fan support, etc.)

Am I unhappy about being out-guessed each week by other great fans? NOT! This fun contest made EVERYONE think past their own team and analyze the whole league...it makes for a more informed fan with an increased appreciation of these GREAT volleyball athletes. I guess there was a method to my (incessant talk) madness. ;D I think I'll check out the Women's play next season as well.

well, actually, yes i do rate the players by their looks. haha, i'm just kidding. but, let's just say there have been many times that i've missed a great play because i've been staring at the reserves.

great looking players have drawn me to like sports (i'm a sports fan in general).

If the guys aren't handsome Beachy, request that they either take you guys to the Movies or a Bar. Movies Because it's dark in the theater, so his looks will be masked, or bar because once you've had a few, he'll be the most handsome man in the world. Oh and put that sweetie on a leash, lol .
