I would also like to say that since every human is emotionally different, what might cause one person to commit suicide will not cause another to take the same action.
Do I think this is murder or manslaughter? Probably not. But it doesn't fit into any other category, either, IMO.
It is pretty obvious that the actions of these two (or even just the one) caused the kid to commit suicide. Just because these actions wouldn't cause every single person to commit suicide doesn't mean that they were not the cause of THIS suicide.

So no, you can't "walk a mile in someone else's shoes" - and it is more because you are not that person, not really that you don't have the same shoes. (I thought maybe your stupid metaphor would help explain to you why you are absolutely incorrect here.) For the record, it's Harper Lee's "silly metaphor." She won a Pulitzer prize with it, and also the Presidential Medal Of Freedom. It's the basis of one of the great stories of tolerance and intolerance. But whatever; I guess you aren't a fan.

It is likely that the Wei and Ravi will be held guilty of harassment or invasion of privacy - remember, Clementi asked his roommate for the use of the room - hence privacy. Whenever Wei and Ravi apply for a job (for the rest of their lives) they will be asked whether they have been arrested of a crime. We all know what that answer will be. There will likely be a civil trial. In a civil trial, the question will be asked if Ravi and Wei had not put the video on the internet, would Clementi be alive? The bar is more likely than not. Ravi and Wei will lose that case and will have to pay Clementi's parents what Clementi would have earned over the rest of his life. That will be a lot of money for people who will likely have trouble getting jobs. Lastly, the question for us as a society is whether this will be a crossroads and whether in the future we will change what we think is allowable. I don't know if that will happen.

So what are the chances he'll serve time in prison and not just be deported?

So what are the chances he'll serve time in prison and not just be deported? Deportation would happen after he serves his sentence.
