Stanford just got a Sand recruit. Abby Converse from Xavier Prep in Phoenix Xavier is a private all-girls Catholic school in the heart of Phoenix, and is an absolute powerhouse in nearly every sport. cornholing?

Question for Stanford fans, will there even be any home matches this coming season. As of now, their will not be any sporting events held in the Bay Area, at least not until November, which Stanford is part of.

You are quoting a person who said he didn’t believe any sporting events until November. It is presently very unknown what will happen late August

Change of pace: I just watched the 2016 final, fun to see Inky's last stand and the frosh. It wasn't a well-played match in a lot of areas. Jenna kept insisting on setting Vanjak, even forcing the ball to her at times. I don't know whether this was Jenna or the coaching. I was a little surprised to see Fitzmorris playing middle, but hitting right and not just on slides. As we saw for four years, Stanford blocked the crap out of Texas. KP put up good numbers, but looked, dare I say it, "gassed" at times. Hentz got steadily more spectacular as the match went on. Anyway, always nice to watch Stanford beat Texas. I think it's those burnt orange uniforms that put me off!

I think it's those burnt orange uniforms that put me off! I think some of the setting choices were passing related. While Stanford's backrow D was great, their passing broke down at times. And a lack of a true backrow threat (Plummer wasn't hitting that often out of the back that year) put extra pressure on Vanjak.

I remember wondering back in 2016 why they weren’t setting Plummer out of the back. Seemed like an obvious solution to a couple of those brutal rotations.

Nobody talked about 2017 FF4. If Plummer was performing like 2019, we would have won another one then. I haven't watched any matches of 2017 since that Florida live match. It was too painful to watch.

Stanford actually out-hit Florida for the match thanks in large part to Lutz who had a crazy good match. Hentz also had a crazy good save in the 5th set. Plummer barely hit over .200, Fitz, Alade, and McClure were held to sub .150..... Oh well 3/4 is great in my book lolol

Having said that, we might have not won no. 8th and 9th if not because of that loss. It helped fire up the team for sure.

Normally, I would agree since Vanjak mostly played left, but she was set frequently when Jenna had better options, and I was surprised at how much she was set on the right.

Vanjak looked a lot better on the right to me lol
