My first thought as well…who can you possibly recruit over a top 3 setter? For argument sake I’d rate these setters as top of their classes 2022: Stuckey, Carlson 2023: Swindle, Reilly, Sarafa 2024: Starck, Fuerbringer, Yu 2025: Flynn, Messer, Parks After watching some video, Flynn gives me Shaffmaster vibes. I think glass has better touch on the ball than any of the 2024 setters in terms of how fast the ball leaves her hands. faster than a lot of current NCAA setters. doesn't necessarily mean she's better than the other 2024s but faster hands are always an advantage for setters as long as its not affecting location

I also think Baird's potential is quite high. She did have a disappointing season last year (2022) offensively but she hit 0.284 and had 4.24 kps in 2021. Many have speculated that she was hampered by an injury last season, so if that's the case and she can get back to her 2021-type numbers I think her spot is safe. Also agree w/ the assessment on Rubin. People have made the comparison to McClure. I think she has a similar all-around skillset and is so steady for Stanford in serve receive and back-court defense. Imo, she is more of an offensive threat compared to McClure and takes more chances offensively. With an off-season of training, I expect her to improve offensively and make fewer errors. Rubin can absolutely bounce the ball and she can get on it quick. She’s probably not as good of a passer (yet) as Mcclure but I can def see her being an all american this season

Did anyone get to see Andrew play recently? How did she compare to the other USA middle(s)? If she comes in 2024 we will still have Francis, but will Vicinni still be around?

I don't have comparable McClure stats but hard to believe she passed any better than Rubin. I loved McClure but I think Rubin is a pretty significant upgrade.... Click on the tweet below to see Rubin rated 23.

Florida and Nebraska at Stanford Ohio State Minnesota and Oregon also at Stanford in the Pac 12 Big 10 challenge Last year the full schedule announced June 16 And Stanford starts the season at Northern Colorado on Friday, Aug. 25. We usually play Texas, so hopefully they are on the schedule also. Looks like Penn St dropped out of the B1G/Pac-12 Challenge ... too bad, but understandable since RR has retired. These are the dates I've managed to piece together so far based upon what others have posted or schedules released or partially released by Stanford's opponents. 1. Stanford @ N Colorado, Fri, Aug 25 2. Stanford vs Colorado St., Sat, Aug 26 3. Minnesota @ Stanford, Thu, Sep 7 4. Ohio St @ Stanford, Sat, Sep 9 5. Stanford @ Louisville., Sun, Sept 17

Flynn has much better agility than Shaffmaster.

Is that a good thing? I don't think it's an unpopular opinion to suggest that Shaffmaster has spent most of her college career not living up to the hype coming out of prep play.

I don't think it's an unpopular opinion to suggest that Shaffmaster has spent most of her college career not living up to the hype coming out of prep play. I think their only similarity is height. Shaffmaster was more of a hybrid at the club level who attacked a lot and had raw technique for a setter. Flynn has played some RS, but has primarily been a setter. Shaffmaster was always more of a big powerful athlete and Flynn is more lean and agile with more polished setting technique, jmo.
