Yep, seniors have joined them in Prague. Still no sight of Smith or Andersson. Both Smith and Andersson have European ties. They might be visiting relatives and joining the team in a few days. hopefully! anyone know what Berty and xu are doing during the volleyball part of the trip? do they just hangout at practice or what |

If not, I'm a little surprised she is announcing this early considering how difficult Stanford admissions are. I can't speak specifically to Stanford, but pretty much at every other school preferred walk ons receive preferential treatment. That was the whole angle with the "Varsity Blues Scandal" run by William Rick Singer. The former Stanford sailing coach, John Vandemoer, pleaded guilty in the case (not attacking Stanford as an institution - my school, Texas, had a men's tennis coach involved in the scheme - it was pretty wide spread). That said, it's still really difficult to get into Stanford even with preferential treatment. But my best guess is that yes, it's going to be helpful. |
