These players and these coaches do not want to travel across the country to play games on a weekly basis. Oregon State's stars are transferring out too for the same reason. Did you actually ask these players and coaches? I've heard from a parent that all the players were in favor of joining the ACC as opposed to the alternatives. Hambly has publicly stated he is glad Stanford was able to join the ACC. During the non-conference season the team has been flying all around the country. No one is forcing Hambly to schedule non-conference match-ups throughout the country. Where are Oregon State's players going to be traveling to? I thought their best players were transferring out because they will not be in a Power 5 conference. Am I wrong about that?

I know this is basketball, but did you guys see Kiki is transferring? š Iām literally devastated rn. The future of Stanford womenās basketball is not looking too good. I donāt even think we are getting any top recruits next year. Thatās equivalent to Miner or Rubin transferring outā¦ Kiki has her undergraduate degree. She has another year of eligibility. The San Francisco Chronicle is out with an article Kiki has been offered up to $700,000 in NIL money by some schools. That seems difficult for me to believe although she probably is one of the most coveted WBB players in the country. I don't have a handle on how NIL money is impacting women's volleyball. If it's getting into absurd amounts to induce the best players to transfer, I'm starting to prefer Stanford walk away from varsity sports or participate at a level where there are no scholarships and big NIL. From my perspective college should first and foremost be an academic institution, not a revolving door for student athletes chasing the biggest paycheck.

Maybe not on the volleyball side, but Cameron brink made a comment in an interview postgrad about how she couldn't imagine flying all over the country for the regular season

This is not April Fool!!! May be she wanted to taste the water. May withdraw like Raynaud. Did she finish her degree this year? Lauren Betts last year and now Kiki š Iām glad no one impactful has transferred out of the volleyball team. I saw Kiki share something about Stanford getting some good NIL deals, so hopefully that helps bring in recruits.

Kipp should be in Anaheim with team USA very unfortunate she's good, but she's also young in the pro game - i wouldn't sweat it tbh

I truly donāt understand NIL. I thought schools couldnāt promise money of any kind I thought they could only say āyeah some players have made this, or we have ALOT of NIL opportunitiesā but promising it or offering a specific number was not allowed?
