From Hawaii, happy for Zaria! Class of 2025 - Zaria Queen she plays alot of different positions, her height is give or take 6’1”. Can’t wait to see her at Stanford. http://instagram.com/p/C8-kLdwyBTc Is it just me - but she looks promising. With more training, I think she can be a very good front row player for Stanford.

Maybe she can develop as much as Tami did.

Did we really recruit Ipar Kurt to sit on the bench? I remember when she decided Stanford, it sounded like such a coup that we landed her. Agreed. A bit surprising. I would suspect she will definitely get playing time in 2024, and is first in line if the other 3 pins are injured or out for any reason, but she would start at most of other schools imo. Ipar Kurt competed for Turkey at the CEV European U22 championship which concluded last week. Turkey finished 3rd. Ipar started all 5 matches for Turkey and played exclusively OH. She played essentially all sets but got subbed out a few times. Her stats for both attacking and receiving were pretty average (see below). Compared to when she won MVP at the U19 European championship in 2020, I don't think she has progressed as much as her international peers, probably reflecting a limitation of her height and athleticism. It'll be interesting to see how much she plays this year for Stanford- I predict she'll be the first pin off the bench at both OH and OPP. Ukraine W 3-0; 4 kills, 6 errors, 20 attempts, -.100 HP, 24 receptions, 1 error, 38% positive, 21% excellent Latvia W 3-0; 8-0-10, .800, 5 rec, 1 err, 60% pos, 40% exc, 2 sa Italy L 0-3; 8-4-32, .125, 24 rec, 4 err, 25% pos, 17% exc, 1 block Serbia L 2-3 (Semifinals); 8-5-23, .130, 25 rec, 2 err, 40% pos, 32% exc, 2 sa Poland W 3-0 (Bronze medal game); 6-4-16, .125, 12 rec, 1 err, 42% pos, 25% exc, 1 sa Total: 16 sets, 34-19-101, .149, 90 rec, 8 err, 37% pos, 25% exc, 5 sa, 1 block Highlights and full match replays from the semifinals and bronze medal game can be found here: www.youtube.com/@cevolleyball/streams

Well it seems like none of the top recruits (most especially OH) will be committing to Stanford for 2026 which would put more pressure on their 2027 recruitment. We will be very thin in the OH for 2027 as Blyashov would have graduated by then leaving Demaria (if she commits to Stanford) as the only OH and maybe Kurt - if she stays for her 5th year. This is also a result of failing to get a top OH for the 2024 class. I wish we had Lucy Chertock. She would have made this 2025 class even better. I suspect Stanford may be looking at Makenna Crosson 6-3 OH from Archbishop Mitty/Vision for 2026. She is the daughter of former Cal coach Sam Crosson who is now coaching at nearby West Valley College. She is a 6-rotation player and reminds me of Brittany Howard (tall/lanky frame with good all-around game) but with more power. I think she'd be a good get, especially with essentially all the other top 2026 OH off the board already and basically being from Stanford's backyard. I understand she's also looking at Minnesota, not sure who else. I hope Stanford is also looking at Kayla Nwabueze, 6-2 MB out of Legacy/Michigan. I suspect there could be some mutual interest there. She could be the dynamic middle we need after losing out on Harvey. Ella Andrews 6-4 MB from the same Legacy club team could also be someone to keep an eye on but may be looking to stay in Big Ten country. I guess the longer these athletes stay uncommitted the better for Stanford... Makenna Crosson has committed to Minnesota. The highest ranked uncommitted OH. Jordin Southall and Joy Udoye are still uncommitted, though. For Sarah Hickman, looks like it's going to a battle as to who gets here. She has a lot of potential. And Kayla Nwabueze also remains uncommitted...which is good for Stanford.

Love the names posted. Appreciate. However keep in mind Stanford will only have one Sr, Rubin, in 2025.

Is Pringle on scholarship? I think only Rubin. I should have been clearer. Thus I believe only one scholarship opening for 2026

Pringle should be a Sr, and will likely start-not necessarily saying as libero, but at least as a DS role.

Seems like we will be steady in the back with Oglivie, Rubin, Pringle and Cawa in 2024. Not too concerned about the setting either. It’s really going to come down to how well our hitters can put the ball away
