Somebody said, presumably on this board, is that the plan is for Schonewise to redshirt. But strictly rumor and hey, if she's the best when training starts......I have seen Higgins play on a videotape and she is the real deal at Opposite. Should be interesting to see... it's only one game but Schonewise looks phenomenal. Just as I go to post this she gets a kill than on the next play stuffs the outside haha. A year redshirting could make her scary good... would rather her not lose a year of eligibility sitting if she isn't going to play above the upper classwomen!

I just want Munoz to call up Murrey and figure out how she transformed her game to correlate to being such a fierce attacker. Munoz has the talent, and the usually un-coachable, but high desirable, high contact point on attacking, she just needs the mental strategy and perhaps conditioning to push her game into actually being effective. UW will be far too young on the OH for Munoz to have another season like this and the dawgs hope to to stay in the top 10.

1. USC (as long as Falyn holds they will be the top dog) 2. Washington (Vansant, Vansant, and a little bit of Ross ) 3. Stanford (just because ) 4. UCLA (Megan will be there...) 5. Cal (lost Carli who is a great leader...Big shoes to fill) 6. Oregon (Plum will be solid and will carry the team) 7. Arizona 8. Arizona State 9. Utah (has setter issues) 10. Oregon State 11. Washington State 12. Colorado

WSU is only a few players away from moving up a bit. I don't know if they are actually going to do so, but it wouldn't be too surprising if they do better than 11th.

Colorado no way in hell cal will be 5th. *they return every other starter minus Cal's golden child Lloyd * have the top rated setter from the 09' class ready to fill in and *bring in one of the top recruiting classes. aint gonna happen. hey maybe being picked to finish 5th is a good omen for the bears though... look where they got this year!

Feller credits a lot of the success of this year to the new offensive system, which Lloyd was the key part in. who knows what the new setter will bring to the table. Add to that the fact that Stanford/USC/UW/UCLA will all have boat loads of talent and its anyone's guess what happens with that talent. Tarah Murrey is a PERFECT example of what can happen in one season. What if Williams/Spelman at Stanford have breakout years? What about Kidder/Todorovic at UCLA?....we know USC is talented and experienced....what about UW's top OH combo? We never know what is going to happen...all teams will be loaded next year, but I agree that Cal has distinct edge in experienced talent (at key positions other than setter) against every other team besides USC...but that does not mean that the coaches and players at the other schools can't have a great season. I think that all the Pac-10 1-5 schools could easily be top 10 caliber by time the season ends. Especially with other schools taking hits.

I think WSU may be 4 players away. Ganzer is a given (most of the time) and then the drop off is fairly significant. They have a real issue in the setter department, their freshman improved over the year but was by far and away the weakest setter in the Pac-10. I am not sold on them being much better than this year.

The way in hell for Cal, Stanford, even perhaps Washington and USC to finish 5th next year is for an injury to their front line setter. Cal has Parrot for a back-up, Stanford Bai, Washington may have another setter but Ross is back up, and USC has two coming in that can set after Bateman. Each could run a 6-2, but about taking over the whole team? Obviously depends on the team and player.

I don't see Ross ever setting for the UW. She's too important outside/opposite. I think the local freshman steps in if Nogueras goes down.

Dear gocalbears - I voted cal to finish 2nd this past season (only off by one)... Cal will not finish 2nd next year... maybe 4th

UW will be in the mix for the national title again. Jenni Nogueras is ready to run the offense. Great front line talent with Bianca Rowland, Lauren Barfied, Amanda Gil, Kelcey Dunaway, Kylin Munoz plus those outstanding freshmen. Back row is solid and tested with Kelly Holford and Jenna Orlandi. Jim McLaughlin will have UW ready.
