I am so dissappointed that Colton kid didn't make it to the top 24. He is so much better than at least 3 of the guys that did. He was one of the last three standing. Also kind of suprised Rachel Zevita made it through, not one of my female favorites. Otherwise, I think they did a pretty good job at choosing the top 24. Just my Idol thoughts...

Agreed. Of the three last males, Colton was the only one who had any chance at all to actually win.

I thought JLo was supposed to be a Diva, but she's been so sweet - this show may ruin her reputation!
The diva is the black guy who can definitely sing, but he's starting to get on my nerves with his drama and hitting high notes at random times - in the bathroom, during interviews, when they told him made top 24, etc.
I really like the guy who sang "Blackbird" during the Beatles part. Where did he come from? And the guy that plays the bass. Wonder if he will clean himself up a bit before the next round?

I've never thought of her like that but admittedly I can't say I am well qualified to offer an opinion on who is or is not a diva. Never been a fan of her music. Enjoyed a few on the movies she's been in. As an AO judge? She is terrific! The black guy is Jacob Lusk. I agree he needs to tone down his theatrics a bit. Paul McDonald sang Blackbird and I will be interested to see how far he goes. He has a unique style and voice but his tone is so light and airy I wonder how well that will work with some of the different genres he will be required to sing as he advances. The dude with the bass is one of my favorites. Casey Abrams. And I doubt he will clean himself up as I think that is part of his coolness. Who knows? Best group of 24 EVER on Idol. I think back on last year and there were people in the top eight-ten that I don't think would have made this years top 24. That number gets cut in half this week though. Lot's of really good singers will be going home on Thursday.

So, what are your thoughts on the final 13? I mostly agreed, all but one boy and one girl.

Just a theory: Every idol show, they have one or two that have tried out before and did not make the cut but finally make it... I think they plan this!!! They cut about 3 that should have made the top 24 or even top 12 and STRONGLY suggested they try again!!! hint hint... They always have a few that get in and we are all shocked how in the world.... I say ALL planned... so the first few outs are easy plus makes the others look better... What you say? ;D Before anyone jumps on my English, it was an intentional attempt at humor... Maybe I am just too much of a geek and should stick with numbers;) Love JLo and the dude with long hair!

So, what are your thoughts on the final 13? I mostly agreed, all but one boy and one girl. Not a fan of Ashthon Jones at all. Wished Lauren Turner would have had a second chance. I had really liked Julie Zorrilla as she has a great voice and it absolutely stunning, but she really stunk Wednesday so hard to see her getting a second chance. Glad Naima made it. I like here a lot but I don't think her style appeals to a real large audience. I will predict a successful recording career for her, but for a pretty specific fan base. As for the boys. I wish Tim would have made it but like Julie he was horrible early in the week. Didn't they sing a duet during Beatles night? Hmmm. I am glad Brett is gone. I don't think Paul is in it for the long term as his range seems very limited to me. I wish Robbie would have made it over Stefano, but Robbie tends to over-sing his songs at times. I would be amazed if both he and Julie don't try again along with a few others. From my perspective, no one got cut that had a realistic chance to win this year. But who thought at this point in the competition a couple years ago that kris Allen was a front runner? Ya just never know!! Over all, a very good group. Easily the best group of 13 ever. No way I could guess who will win at this point, although I will say Casey is my favorite. Regardless, the show is just now starting.

Anyone else notice a resemblance to Scotty? And what the hell was Paul doing the other night while he was singing? I couldn't tell if he was drunk or just had to go to the bathroom really bad.

I finally watched last night this week's shows. I'm still fuzzy with the names, but I think the top 13 are pretty good. I think once they make the top 24 (the live shows) they can't try out again, but don't quote me on that.
Jacob Lutz (sp?) drives me nuts. He has a great voice, but he's such a diva.
I liked the girl who JLo said was a "Young Bette Midler". Would have liked her better than the "I'm Not Going" girl that made it as a wild card. But, they always have one "Jennifer Hudson" type.
The 2 young girls are really good. The one who looks Philipino (?) I LOVE and I love that song she sang (from the 80's musical "Fame").
I thought Stefano was the best of the ones who sang for their life. I like his personality.
Casey is the most unique. I think he may win the whole thing. But sometimes it's better to come in 2nd, then you can sign with whatever record company you want.

HuskerVBfan93 - That is so funny that you said that, I told my daughter that very same thing. She had no clue as to what or who I was talking about, however.... but I have sent this picture to her so she can judge for herself! I do like that kid Scotty, though. Thanks for the chuckle.

I was fine with Ashton going home the 1st week. Sort of wanted Naima to go this week. I don't think Karen should have sung a Spanish verse with EVERY song she sang. I think that hurt her.
Paul is sort of getting on my nerves with his "moves", and I loved his voice in the beginning, but it's getting old.
I like Pia, Jacob, Scotty, and the rocker guy are my favorites now. I really like both 16-year-olds, but the Philipino one has no stage presence. The blonde one is a performer.
Next week: I think Hayley or Naima go home. Paul will be in the bottom 3 soon, I predict.

I am with you concerning Paul. He moves like he is either drunk or he has to go to the bathroom really bad. Plus I don't think he is all the good of a singer. He has very limited range.

Can I just rant a bit here. I'm so sick of the f bomb on American Idol, and in America in general. Steven Tyler, then Marc Antony last night. Wonder how soon he and JLo's twins will pick it up?Then Casey must have said it 10-12 times in a minute when he found out he was saved. Yes, it gets bleeped, but we all know what they are saying. Good grief, kids are in the audience.
Yesterday at the grocery store, the credit card thingy wouldn't work. The cashier (who I guess was in her 30's) says, "That f'ing thing has been giving me problems all morning." I gave her my "old lady is appalled" look and she apologized. Probably heard it 10 more times throughout the day. Sad.
But back to Idol. Really surprised at the results, but I think Casey comes off as a little cocky, so maybe that is why. Thought it would be Thea. Love her voice, but she's lacking in the personality department. Jacob Lutz belongs on Broadway - he's very theatrical, in an annoying sort of way, IMO.
Is that one producer guy going to be on EVERY week? Getting a little tired of him.
Loved Stevie Wonder.

A most interesting results show. I agree 100% on your take on Jacob. And yes, Casey needs to be a little more humble and for crying out loud stop growling and snarnling so much. There is a time and a place, but not for the whole song. Am curious how they will decide which ten are going on tour. Last night ten were declared as being on the tour, but since Casey was saved and they will likely vote two off next week as that has been the custom the week after using a save, will someone lose out if Casey survives nexty weeks cuts?
IMO, Pia is in a class all by herself and she is ALL class!
Your take on the "f-bomb" is also spot on.
