We have a few kids that are entertaining offers abroad after their graduation. Anyone care to share what the average or range of salaries can be for players playing in different countries or even teams? We know what the agents are telling us and what the offers are but want a non-biased opinion of what may be the actual range depending on the abilities/ranking of the player being offered the contract.

I bet the salaries range from near nothing to what Lloy Ball brings in.

Your best bet is to contact Tim Kelly at BIP. He can tell you what the range is for the top Women's league and so on. I know is some countries you are paid well and dont need a second job and other places it's more like a thing you do after your 9-5 job. The range is very large.

FWIW, I think the OP was looking for some independent source of information.

What players are paid in Europe should be much different to what is paid in Puerto Rico or South America. Estrella

I think it's hard to really give an average, especially with the ambiguity of the word 'Pro'. Are you talking anyone playing in a pro league? If they get at least half their wages from playing? If they have to get another job, but the club/coach sets them up with an easy one? If they're full wage is covered by the team? etc.

Good luck contacting him if you have an issue. Our son was playing in Europe but when there were issues to be addressed he was almost impossible to find and his response time was awful. There always seemed to be an excuse why he didn't get back right away to solve the problems.

Understand why you or most would like to see these numbers....but by having to ask this question just reinforeces why you go to college/university in the first place....to get a degree you can use for starting a company or joining the workforce..
There might be 1% of Volleyball players making any decent money...however there were only two players who played volleyball for a living who actually made real money....misty may and kerri walsh.
Get an education, if you want to goof around europe etc for a year or two playing vball, ok, just understand this will not be your job 10 year from now.

For the Logan Tom's of the world, soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wrong.

LT makes hundreds of thousands of dollars each season.. and she has no expenses.. adds up to quite a bit of money. I believe this will be her 10th or 11th season playing professionally.

And we are getting conflicting information, i assume depending on the positive/negative experience of the player.

You always have to discount it based on your trust. But I would probably discount info from current players and professional agents a lot less that I would discount info from an internet forum.

The girls are looking to support themselves for a few years and get an experience of a life time. They are solid academic kids and will have no problem finding a job or even starting their own business when/if they decide to come back. If they choose to remain in the "pro" world and continue to play the sport they love, I for one will support their choice regardless. This is not football!!! ;D Most of the volleyball kids are pretty smart, FYI.
