Going back to the ruling about D2 vs. D3 options, I think the rule is kinda bogus. Last year our second team beat the D2 champ Dominican (albeit in points due to the system of pool play) at the Iowa tourney, and I'm pretty sure they would manhandle Stout, so why can't we just have two divisions? The D3 tournament at nationals is a joke anyway since there's only like 12 teams, so why should our 2s team work so hard thru the year to raise funds for nationals to play teams twice cuz there's not enough....
My proposal, just have 2 divisions where second teams must be in D2 as well as 2 year tech colleges (MATC rule) and have the same set up as D1...that is the top teams in D1, and the rest in D1AA--ie D2 and D2AA. It's not like there's money involved with winning nationals but it's tough to watch teams like our second team and Cal Poly and AZ play each other when they could beat most of the D2 teams and prolly a lot of those crap D1 teams. Don't penalize clubs that have busted their hump in recruiting and fundraising.

Augustana looked really good at the UW tournament from what I saw.

Ohio Northern is a pretty good team--
They knocked off Kent State and played a good game against Notre Dame at the Hardwood in the fall. I don't know a whole lot about them but last year they were an undersized team with a ton of fight in them.

Anyone see any of the top teams? I know Providence dropped a match to North Dakota State

Has anyone seen Augustana? I can't speak for the team as a whole, but I've played with both Tim Glinski and Joe Baker from Augustana, and they're both phenominal players with good attitudes. Wouldn't surprise me that this team would do well with two seniors like them leading the charge.

Sorry, but beating Kent State isn't any sort of statement match. Ok, you win there, Kent State doesn't show a whole lot (I was under the impression they were pretty good through some word of mouth at the Hardwood), but they put a whooping on Marquette in a crossover match, beat NIU pretty soundly and then gave Arizona the best match of anyone besides UCF/Oshkosh (29-27, 25-20). I stand by my 'Ohio Northern is a pretty good team' statement

I play at Western Illinios and we see Augie a lot...they are a very solid team. Main players are OH Baker and OPP Kett, should do good at nationals and lookin forward to playin them later this month.
Ne one see the rankings for March, they were bogus! We somehow went down 5 spots after placing 9th at the hoosier-illini classic losing to lakeland who is a top D1 and beating Wisconson also a top 20 team, can someone explain this to me?
