What happened to Jim Clar? Wilton benched him. Not completely sure why. I suspect Vanzant is the better passer, so Hakala was moved back to opposite while Kalima moved from libero to outside hitter. Clar was a pretty good passer, but Vanzant has done a pretty good job so I suspect that is why he is still in the line up.

the setter for csn reminds of the kid in the movie t2 -- the middle blocker for csn #3 looks a bit like clar for u h -- and vance looks like an extra for a late 70s horror flick -- although i rather see schkud play in the front row for kalima - kalima did some nifty things last nite that was fun to watch!! ![:-*](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/kiss.png)

How come Wilton can't do a double sub kinda thing where Vanzant/Clar play the same position except Vanzant subs into the BR while Clar subs in the FR? I think it possibly could be able to help the team out- since Vanzant is slightly better than Clar in the BR... I know i've seen this done quite regularly in the womens game, but why don't the men use this type of strategy? Is it because of less substitution opportunities are given in mens regulated matches compared to the womens?

If Clar comes in for Vanzant in the front row he has only 3 rotations to play then when he subs back out for Vanzant in the backrow he cannot come back in later in the game... So theres basically only 1 substitution allowed for each player. Hence the purpose of serving subs/backup liberos serving and passing 3 rotations in the backrow.
