USC is going to mostly rely on Jupiter as usual and its blocking. Olgard/Williams/Schraer are all good blockers and will be key players in that match. Ward and Bartsch are like Danielson and Croson because they are never really consistent on the same nights. One usually hits .275-.400 and the other hits .100-.275.

From what I heard the Illini will have some more fan support. All the Neb fans I talked with that are headed to the games will be cheering for their Big Ten counterpart.

I thought the tournament was over??? Didn't USC just beat Hawaii in five? In the battle of the moonballs, the edge goes to USC who only have problems with quicker offenses and monster serving. BTW, what's this "root for your conference" stuff? Is that some kind of Midwest thing? I live in California and will root for the "new guy"--Illinois.

Illinois can whip USC............they match up with them. Hagglund and Shaw will be the keys to this match.............they better be ready to dig ala Nicole Davis.

Considering USC just beat Hawai'i at the SSC, a pro Illinois crowd will not faze USC at all.

Illinois will have to play their best match EVER to beat U$C!

USC is the better team, but two tough 5 gamers plus the travel to Hawaii, back to the mainland and then to San Antonio... makes it a tough one. Mick at this level is also in another league than Hambly who I think is great. Experience at this level is huge.

For Illinois to have a chance they need to serve tough to Jupiter and hope she goes into the shank tank. The problem with USC is that they are still good out of system. If they are in system the middles have the potential to tear you apart. If they are out of system you can key on Jupiter. I am still predicting a USC sweep, they are too good this year.

USC in 4 or a sweep. Though I pray it will be more competivie than that lampoon FSU/UCLA match.
