Some questions to ponder: Why was LW released and on the Madison Campus three days later? Why would Ray release her without a fight? Why would the AD allow it? Does Waite's previous tenure at NIU have anything to do with this?
Why would Bayer move her family and her husband 1500 miles to UGA. She played at UW, her family is there, her husband's family is there, why would you leave all that to go to a lesser conference? BTW, she did quit.
Does the fact that Coley was LW's club coach, that Coley's dad is the club director of the club, or that he is LW's high school coach have anything to do with the packaging of LW to Wisconsin?
Everyone wins, right? Could it be that the adults are packaging this kid to Wisconsin without her being suspicious of their motives?

You would think she is a Destiny Hooker type player.

You would think she is a Destiny Hooker type player. +1 If she were a Big Ten type of player, she would have ended up in the Big Ten in the first place. I know her club was anonymous, but there are very few secrets in college recruiting anymore. People knew who she was. Now, she may have turned out better than some thought, but not THAT much better. If you read the discussion board for NIU, their fans are acting like she's future National Team just because she went the open tryout...along with a million other kids from programs all over the country that will never don a USA jersey. Nice insurance for Graff when she gets hurt again.

I've heard she is meeting with several other schools in the next few weeks. Many that have more to offer than WI. She likely went there first because its closest and the others will wait for spring break.

I hate all this for Wisconsin fans and alums. They have supported their program thru good times and lean times. They deserve better than all this and so do the Wisconsin players who are also getting sucked in.
All that said, IF WICINSKI ENDS UP AT WISCONSIN, Coley, possibly her husband and Waite better get that program turned around sooner rather than later. Because if it doesn't workout at Wisconsin, I don't know too many coaches who would hire an assistant coach knowing they might hijack the team's best player in a couple years. If all this crap is true, they have all made their beds and will have to lie in them.

This is an awful lot of effort for a player that isn't going to be a cure-all for the Badgers.

mythoughts and luvmesomevball are speaking the thoughts that several of the NIU players have mentioned. So I think that the comments about the conspiracy are not only getting repetitive but are also not the real issue about the departure. Listen to what niualum2222, mythoughts and luvmesomevball are saying. They obviously have better inside info from the NIU team than most of the others here. I am glad Coley and Lauren are out of the program based upon the pain suffered by some of the team at their hands. I do not wish them ill I just hope they can figure out that team chemistry is more important than ambition in being a good coach or player. I would also say that Coley's dad should be left out of this. He is a great guy that loves VB and wants people to play their best. VB is such a small community that it is probably possible to bring any two people together for a conspiracy.
Realistically there are probably only 6 people in the world that could stack up to Hooker. She is mind boggling to watch.

We are not. What does that tell you? 4 people with quality info all with the same opinion.

What I was implying is there were four people not springing out of nowhere, but with actual first hand experience that felt so strongly about the topic they needed to speak out. 2 of those posters have said they had Coley as a coach. The other two seem to know about team dynamics in a way that fans would probably not. That gives their comments a certain amount of weight that may not reside in other comments. Granted, in this situation a person can claim just about anything. I also do not remember seeing anyone else with similar familiarity having contradictory opinions chime in here.

Since there are obviously people out there with a passion for NIU volleyball, I hope that you all will continue to post about how the Huskies do going forward from here. I don't mean that as a shot. I follow the Huskie program from a distance and occasionally make it down for a match, and I think others do as well. I believe the forum benefits from having fans of as many programs as possible posting here. Just take any "they don't matter because they aren't in the top ten" comments in stride and realize that there are people who are interested and will take the time to follow those threads.

So, can we start speculating on who the new Wisconsin head coach might be? Ok, maybe it's a little premature but Waite hasn't been doing much right over the recent years and it seems to be getting worse rather than better. This kind of drama is definitely not what the program needs right now.
