I haven't been following the thread so I don't know if anyone already posted Kendra Koelsch has committed to University of Hawaii for sand only. I have seen her play indoors for her Laguna Beach 18s club and she is a really good indoor setter. Does anyone think Shoji will talk her into playing for the indoor team?

I was hoping she would play both. I saw some of her videos as an opposite and I was pretty impressed.

If Kendra Koelsch is on scholarship for Sand Volleyball, by NCAA rules, she cannot be on the indoor team.

I tried reviewing this thread and then I read somethings from another thread. Aside from Greeley, is there anyone confirmed to be a Wahine in 2014?

Are these DS's possible Libero's or does Shoji have a Libero he's looking at?

If Kendra Koelsch is on scholarship for Sand Volleyball, by NCAA rules, she cannot be on the indoor team. Nobody else has disagreed with you, but I must. The NCAA doesn't discourage participation in multiple sports. The NCAA does have a heirarchy of sports to prevent giving scholarships to athletes in lower level sports only to have the primary sport be at a higher level. I believe the NCAA has placed indoor volleyball at a higher level than sand. If an athlete plays only sand than they can get a scholarship that counts against the quota for that sport; however, if they also play indoor VB the scholarship counts against indoor. I believe Hawaii had this happen recently when a VB player also played basketball. Their scholarship was counted against the WBB quota since it is higher on the NCAA's heirarchy.

Savannah Kahakai is receiving a scholarship for 2014. Shoji sees her as the next libero.
The Chinese player in my view doesn't exist. A made up fantasy to entertain a certain teen poster.
Unless the NCAA has changed it's rule when Sand was started in Spring of 2011, if the player is on a sand scholarship, she cannot play on the indoor team for 2 seasons. This ruling was installed to stop sandbagging players on the sand team to participate on the indoors.
