Well, someone's going to do it so it may as well be me: let's list our predictions for the best BW player at each position. For me, some of these are very predictable, but in a few cases, I've gone out on a limb and made some unusual guesses. In those cases, these are dark horse players that I think may have breakout seasons. Plus, I'm sure I've completely overlooked a player or two. Okay, those are all my caveats and excuses; here we go: OH: Best - Hartong (Hawaii); Honorable Mentions - Keddy, Squires MB: Best - Okpala (LBS); Honorable Mentions - Hinger, Hampton if healthy Opp: Best - Wright (Irvine); Honorable Mentions - Taylor Setter: Best - Tie: Uiato (Hawaii) and Gedryn (Northridge); Honorable Mentions: Woolway, Juley if healthy Libero/DS: Best - Formico (Santa Barbara); Honorable Mentions: Jackson (fixed the Hampton mistake) you still have Keddy as an OH. She's not, she's a MB, it was unusual for a MB, but Poly played her thru the entire rotation in 2011, she basially never got off the court all year. after Hartong, no real stand-outs at OH. Alex Reid will be among the best OHs, she had good stats as a frosh, she's very explosive. When you look at her legs, you'll know why. Allen might be as well, but maybe too inconsisant. Kuber will be one of the best setters IMO, unless they use her as an OH out of necessity.

I can't say for sure that the game against Texas. But Hawaii needs to beat out UCLA. This is there last season to shine and I am guessing that Hawaii will add another Big West title to their trophy case. Hopefully hopefully Hawaii gives Texas a run for their money. Hoping LBSU also joins Hawaii in making a appearance in the NCAA women's volleyball tournament. My guess top 3 finishers. 1.Hawai'i 2.Long Beach State 3.Cal. State Northridge Northridge was somewhat of a dissapointment last year, seemed to have the players to make the NCAAs but lost a few conference matches they shouldn't have.

CAL POLY, after last year's Coaches' Poll, came in I believe 3rd or 4th with (1) first place vote.
Some thought it was cast by UH coach Dave Shoji.

I was just looking thru the schedules and noticed Hawaii plays a team I'm not familiar with. Toyota Auto Body sounds like the name of a repair shop or car dealership. lol It is a Japanese professional team where one of Hawaii's alumni plays on. Both teams played each other last season. hey GOUCI how is that great coach of yours doing at UCI...another stellar season upon you guys.....maybe your coach will finally stick around and do the job that she is paid to do instead of loitering around all day at the Olympic Center....

I predict it will be Hawai'i's Hartong and CAL POLY's Keddy that will hammer away for this season's Big West POY award. Provided Jenn Keddy will completely recover from her recent stress fracture surgery. Understand the cast and now the boot have come off and she is back at practice,...half speed I'm sure.GoPOLY!!!

I hope Keddy is healthy this year and that she helps Cal Poly to a much, much better season. That would be good for the program, good for the conference and, of course, great for her.

I HOPE ALL THE BIG WEST TEAMS ARE HEALTHY AND GIVE HAWAII A BATTLE THIS SEASON. ALSO HOPE TEAMS IN THE BIG WEST HAVE SOME QUALITY WINS AGAINST GOOD OPPONENTS. The Fullerton coaches do not like the WOO IS ME syndrome, but they had some key injuries last year too. Example: Tori Brown got hurt before her senior year, like Jen Keddy of CPSLO. Tori during her junior year was a high flier and made first team all league. After sitting out a year, she came back last year. She was no longer a high flier and was a shadow of her former self for most of the season. As the season was ending, Fullerton went to Hawaii. Remember she was the dominate player in the first set as Fullerton easily won. Hawaii made adjustment and won the match 3-1. We all know of the CPSLO and LB woo's and it is assumed that every school will have a health issue sometime during the season. But last year's injuries brought the whole league down. We shell see in a few weeks if the Big West is back. I think, as does Jake, that at least 3 teams maybe 4 will be deserving to make the NCAA tournament. ( Maybe not because of the East coast bias in RPI ) If I am right, Hawaii will not make it through the Big West undefeated as they did last year. UCN, UCI, CPSLO, LBS, and CSUF will all be better this year. I have no clue about UCSB, UCD, or UCR, but if they have improved, Hawaii watch out! My opinion, unbiased of course, is: 1. Hawaii 2. Long Beach 3. Fullerton 4. Northrige 5. Davis 6. Santa Barbara 7. Cal Poly 8. UCI and like everyone I also pick Riverside for ninth. Go Fullerton, Go Big West.

Didn`t remember that girl until you just mentioned it. Hopefully all the Big West teams are healthy this season and bring it to my Wahine. Looking forward to some good matches. This will only make the conference stronger and hopefully raise the RPI in the conference.

That's a great shot inside the Pyramid,...the best looking building on the CSULB's campus and one of the coolest in all college athletics.
