Since we got Disney+ we found out they have a catalog including a lot of documentaries. Quite a bit of old Disney stuff including some of the promotional programs that were made fore Disneyland in the 50s. But also National Geographic documentaries like Free Solo. To think Alex Honnold dropped out of Cal to climb more. Maybe the most interesting moment was the guy climbing El Capitan in a unicorn suit. www.rei.com/blog/climb/the-climber-in-the-unicorn-suit

Just watched HAL about Hal Ashby, who directed a string of seven critically acclaimed films in the 70s - The Last Detail and The Landlord are my favorites. Incidentally, if you get inspired to check out some of his films, you might check out another not so well known Hal in Hal Hartley.

I am watching the Laura Ingalls Wilder show on PBS and I just got to a part where Laura discusses with her fiancé, Almanzo, the wife "obeying" her husband. Almonzo says he does not expect her to obey him. And Laura informs him that this cannot be a part of her wedding vows as 'I cannot make a promise that I will not keep, and Almanzo, even if I tried, I do not think I could obey anybody against my better judgment.'

Capturing the Friedmans (2003) Saw this back in the mid-2000s when it was first released for home media. Saw it again last night. Still engrossing -- and bizarre. It's the story about a father and son -- and their family -- who were charged with sexual molestation of numerous underaged kids. Did they or didn't they do it? It's undeniable that the elder Arnold Friedman was a pedophile because he was caught with numerous porn materials of underaged kids in his home. But whether he and his son Jesse actually sexually molested young kids -- that's what you're never quite sure of. Critically acclaimed and won numerous awards.
