Mikesky and Carmona have disappeared from the Florida State roster! Have they left before the season ends? If so where will they land?? Leaves FSU without depth during the tournament.

They didn't announce any recruits, and that would leave them with 8 returning players -- not even enough bodies for their 6-2, even worse because 3 would be L/DS players. Maybe just a tech glitch?

Carmona is not a tech glitch - she was not in Gainesville for the UF match and team parents indicted that she asked for and was granted a release. No idea where she is going next. Don't recall seeing Mikesky either, so she might have followed the same path.

Saw in another thread that Mikesky has been granted a release and will be transferring to Rice in order to be closer to home.

Well they can just barely run it now too. They have just enough hitters to run it...that being said Poole will put a solid team out there next year whether in the 6-2 or not.

I hate when players leave during the season... It seems sooo wrong.

Under what circumstances would a coach grant a transfer request (and immediate player departure) while the team is still in the NCAA Tournament? Rare event? Seems odd.

likely some extreme circumstances.
I know a player a number of years past. Mom diagnosed with terminal illness/cancer...she moved back to Calif/Bay Area from state of Texas asap.

I know of one reason that you would ask for a release if you wanted to transfer to another program, its so you can contact other colleges and fill out their application in time to join them in January. If you wait to long or your current coach will not release you than you would not be able to transfer until JUNE.

Everything is closer to the west coast than Boston College. More specificly: Washington or California (west coast) Kameron was recruited as a MH, played RS her freshman year at BC. Trained both MH and RS. Preference is MH.

Three kids from USF have a release. Kayla Bivins, touches 10' and has three years left to play (mostly rightside, but some middle experience), Hailey Brooks (setter from Virginia who redshirted due to an injury this season, still has 4 yrs left to play), and Carissa Whalen (middle who will graduate this summer & can start her masters somewhere next fall... Possible interest in beach as well!)
