Sometimes, the least expensive things are the most fun. You get to bond as a team and have a blast. You get to have experiences that you will remember forever. That's true. (But it's also true that sometimes the most expensive things are the most fun.) You got that right! I find "expecting" to charter or feeling slighted is a problem. Maybe flying commercial for them wasn't inconvenient. I know for PSU commercial involved busing to Baltimore and splitting the party up into two groups to fly direct. UW involved a second leg and a delay. Chartering in those cases makes sense.

All three out of town coaches said on the Net Live yesterday that they were chartering.

One of my favorite men's college volleyball memories took place on a team van ride. A teammate fell asleep, and we spent the next 3.5 hours of the drive maneuvering around the van to pose for obnoxious pictures and try to make this guy look as ridiculous as possible just because he fell asleep. Those pictures made up about 50% of our team's end-of-year photo recap. Poor kid, he'll never fall asleep around people again. Then, when I started working in women's volleyball, I realized just how much better they had it. Not just flights, but awesome trips while on road matches and other events (concerts, sporting events, etc.) So boo freakin hoo Longhorn player. Enjoy your commercial flight and be happy you aren't bussing to Seattle. What longhorn player was complaining? SportyBucky had said a UT player wasn't happy they were flying commercial

SportyBucky had said a UT player wasn't happy they were flying commercial [br I thought Texas chartered. Guess I was wrong I would think they would have chartered but she was talking about commercial, check in lines, not sitting together to Seattle. Wasn't what I wanted to chat with her about, nor was I going to question that of all things.

As someone who travels for work fairly frequently, I will say that the charter is certainly more convenient. You have get to the airport with a lot less lead time for the flight, security and luggage checking is streamlined, etc. Often it's a direct, so there's no layover involed. Front door to hotel, I can fly a charter in half the time it takes me to get to the same place commercial. So I understand the complaint from the standpoint of timing, especially if you're trying to get somewhere during finals. But yes, I agree that it's a little ridiculous. my college team traveled in vans and ate at Wendy's. We were perpetually dehydrated for meets because Coach refused to make bathroom stops, so we just stopped drinking fluids the day before a trip.
That being said, is anyone else a little creeped out that someone is actually tracking PSU's flight? Um, you aren't NORAD and they aren't Santa, dude.

Nope. They are flying commercial. Chatted with one of their players who wasn't happy about that fact. JFC... What have we done to kids? It's not enough that you get to go to school for free at a top university, play a sport, travel the nation and the world, have tutors, get cool schwag... you want to fly a charter because the process of flying to to the MFing NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS IS TOO DIFFICULT OR INCONVENIENT? I want to barf when I hear crap like that. The kid that CLEANS MY FRICKIN' HOUSE had finals this week too... we had to adjust the cleaning time for her so she could WORK and TAKE FINALS. And she left me a very gracious note for being accommodating this week. I felt like crap that she couldn't just cancel because SHE NEEDED THE MONEY. Nut up, ladies. You won the genetic lottery, live in a time and place that lets you capitalize on that win, and not recognizing your incredible good fortune is very unbecoming. That is all. Wow. I find it hilarious that the person who is ranting to "Nut up, ladies" and stop complaing and being entitlement driven, has someone else cleaning their house for them.

Guess not. Either way, they should be happy they are flying

They secretly don't like their best player! I think I know what Haley did for them to hate her. She didn't bring anything to their Texas annual BBQ.

That being said, is anyone else a little creeped out that someone is actually tracking PSU's flight? Um, you aren't NORAD and they aren't Santa, dude. There are several websites that let you track flights in real time. (Any flights that have filed an IFR flight plan, not just those with PSU volleyball players on them.)

What's the difference between that and following the program on Twitter or Facebook. BTW, they are currently over southern North Dakota and will be over Montana in a few minutes.
