Newcomers:
Scambray 29K .207 Jones 27K .233 Schwan 23K .333 DeHoog 6K .188
I think we'll see Scambray's and Jones' hitting percentages come up as they get more practice/playing time. Jones spent much of preseason practice at MB, so is still getting adjusted to the OPP position.
I feel very optimistic about the potential of this team. Has to be JMac's most athletic team to date.

Hi Husky fans. I live several miles south of Seattle so I only manage to get to a few conference games a year. Last year I bought my tickets online about a month before the match(s). Each time I was able to get tickets in section 8 row 2 seats 13ish.
This year on August 14th at 8:30am (the day and time tickets went on sale) I logged into the Husky ticket site and picked out my first game. Clicked on "find my own seats" and clicked on section 8. and it comes back 0 seats available. Sections 7 and 9 say the same thing. Thinking there must be some kind of opening minute glitch I call the ticket office. They pick up right away and I ask for help making my ticket purchase. They said "those sections are being sold only to season ticket holders" I said Ok I would like to purchase season tickets. Thinking I could go to some more games then I planned and donate the rest. "sorry but all of those seats are sold" I said but they just went on sale not even five minutes ago. "oh they were season ticket renewals" Not wanting to get into an argument with the poor agent who just happened to get the call I thanked them for their time and hung up the phone confused.
I have checked back several times and placed a few more calls but the results are the same.
Does anyone know the story on who got these tickets? Do Husky Volleyball tickets ever come up for sale by brokers? or stub hub?
Thank you for all of your help
Brad

Just show up about 15 minutes before the ticket windows open and you can get a great GA seat at any match.

Well, yeah, those seats are all sold out. That sort of thing happens after a Final Four season.
As far as I know there is no magic secret way to buy reserved tickets in 7, 8, or 9. There are still reserved seats available in the end sections.
Or just buy GA and take your chances on finding a seat a little higher up at mid-court.

Could be a banner season for attendance in Vansant's farewell year.

I have had the same 3 seats in section 8 since they started offering season tickets for volleyball. Each year the ticket office sent me a renewal letter (prior to open ticket sale) with the option to choose the same seats as the prior year.

Thank you very much for your responses. I did purchase some GA tickets.
I understand about the excitement surrounding this program. Also the matches I went to last year were on week nights. I just do not understand how the tickets were all sold to season ticket customers 30 seconds after they went online. Also it is not possible that they were resold to the ticket holders from last year as I sat it those seats and no one around me were season ticket holders.

Yeah, I understand what you are saying, but the season tickets went on sale well before the individual tickets did. So while I think you are right that not all those sales were really renewals, I do think the sections sold out to season tickets before they ever became available for individual tickets.

Get to the arena at least an hour before match time, if not a little before then, to get a chance at the better GA seats. Otherwise, you'll either be well away from the net or up much higher than you might like.

Thank you everyone. I will show up plenty early. It also looks like there are some reserved seats on the end line still for sale I will look into those. From there i can watch the plays set up.
Thank you once again for all of your replies and for being so kind to the new kid.

Assuming that both 2015 commits (Destiny Julye OH and Courtney Domme L) will be on scholarship, UW would have one more scholarship available for 2015. With Jones looking to stay at OPP, we also need an MB recruit/transfer for 2015. Anyone on the horizon?
2015 roster (*=walk-on):
OH: Courtney Schwan, Tia Scambray, Desiny Julye MB: Lianna Sybeldon, Melanie Wade OPP: Crissy Jones, Carly DeHoog, ?Bailey Tanner S: Katy Beals, Bailey Tanner, Jade Finau* L: Cassie Strickland, Kim Condie* DS: Reni Meyer-Whalley*, Justice Magraw*, Courtney Domme

Starters now seem to be settled, other than perhaps at setter, with Tanner sitting out this weekend:
OH: Vansant, Scambray MB: Wade, Sybeldon OPP: Jones, Nelson S: Tanner/Finau, Beals L: Strickland
Scambray's edge over Schwan has come down to serve-receive, despite the latter having better kills/set and hitting percent stats.
If Tanner's neck(?) injury hangs on, running a 5-1 is a possibility.

That's not official public info, is it? Guess based on who was announced on the signing date (and had a public NLI signing). Walk-ons can be awarded a scholarship if one is available. There are also deals where a walk-on is promised an ongoing scholarship after walking on the first year (I think that was the case with Miyashiro).
