I think this one is going to be the centerpiece of Washington sand volleyball recruiting. It's got it all -- the overcast skies, the people in fur-lined parkas, the cold wind ... April in Seattle. (Actually, only a couple days later it was very warm and sunny.) |

Word on the street is Jade Finau can hit. Though since this will be her first experience with UW, we'll have to see. Katy Beals is not too bad, no? Jade can hit, but is not a top D-1 hitter by any stretch of the imagination. However she does have an excellent setter dump. |

I guess I just assumed that because she is listed on the roster as a setter and because she was setting all last year during warmups that her role on the team is going to be: a setter. |

Interesting to see Vansant paired with Kim Condie. Like how they came back to finish 2-0 after losing their first match. It's good for the ladies and the rest of the team to get their feet wet with sand volleyball. I have a feeling UW will be successful there, just with indoor vball. I think it's a shame the season was only one day long. I bet the ladies wished it could've been a lot longer.

Also, no mention of Tanner. Was her injury last summer so severe that she is still unable to play, or is there something more sinister at work?
