My brother got me to try "his" program for detecting unwanted visitors, Spybot. It won me over when it found a bunch of little unwanted cookies Adaware missed. That was enough to get me to switch. There are others that catch things that Spybot misses too... pestpatrol, among them. It all depends if you're willing to spend money. Spybot is very good though.

When I'm a big rock tycoon I can buy fancy things like power and water and paid for computer software. For now the good thing about free is that you always get more than you pay for.

Has anyone installed the new Yahoo toolbar that proports to get rid of spyware too? I've had the Google toolbar since it came out (No Mr. Idaho it wasn't your post that directed me), and I just don't want to get rid of it, mainly because I use the google search engine exclusively. So if anyone has tried Yahoo.....

I've had the Google toolbar since it came out (No Mr. Idaho it wasn't your post that directed me), and I just don't want to get rid of it, mainly because I use the google search engine exclusively. So if anyone has tried Yahoo..... I have tried it. I don't like it, the Yahoo and MSN toolbars both try to do too much and take much more system memory on my configuration than the google toolbar. I will keep trying them, but I defaulted back to the google for now.
