Pavlik/Fopma as well as Doherty/Lucena and Hyden/Bourne all advance out of the qualifier today in Moscow.
So US has 5 women's teams and 4 men's teams in the main draw.

Shame it had to come at the expense of Seidu (although I guess at 36, he probably isnt playing the way he once was). I know the FIVB is committed to getting different countries represented, but having Allison and Bruno in the qualifier just seems unfair to the other teams there.

Can someone explain how Allison and Bruno ended up in the qualifier? Also how are they seeded in the 20s?

They aren't seeded in the 20s. They are seeded 13th (which would be 11th but for the host country rules).
A country has a maximum 3 automatic berths to the main draw. Fourth team is automatically in the qualifier. Alison/Bruno have the 4th most entry points of the Brazilian teams, so they were in the qualifier.

I think with teams like that all the rule does is eliminate all the qualifiers in their part of the draw. I would say it also tires Allison and Bruno but its two games

And we are really worried about a 16th or 17th seeded qualifier? Plus, a sixteen/seventeen (can't remember which) beat Vitor Felipe/Evandro earlier this year so it can happen.

Foplik killed by the 14 seed but then they beat the third seed for their best win of the year.
Day/Ross continue to look awful with two bad losses. Unless Foplik does something in the knockout rounds the women's side of the US teams (other than April/Kerri) has a shakeup coming

some not so good results today for the USA teams. Sean/Phil, Jake/Casey & Ross/Jennings all remain undefeated though.

Ross/Walsh get the winner of this match tomorrow: Pavlik-Fopma USA [19] vs. Fendrick-Sweat USA [11] Only 1 US women's team will make it to round 3.
Tri & John playing right now to get out of Pool play, they are up in the 2nd set after losing the 1st.
Nick and Ryan will also play to get out of their pool today. Apparently it's raining pretty good there.
