I bet that SC will have a 6-2 with setters opposite middles, and DS's come in for Nwanebu and Abercrombie, letting those two serve first (with setters in!) if their serve is good. Ruddins will get first cracck at OH all the way around, but Gillis will be in OH if Ruddins can't serve return. And that's a lot of power pins.

Nwanebu is very serviceable in the back row when I saw her stint with the national team. Not too sure about serve-recieve, but her backcourt defense was not too bad for a freshman playing against national teams. Her defense wasn't anything worth acknowledging IMO. But she was still a freshman in college playing against national teams. There has to be some merit for her backrow. I think she'd be fine in the backrow in college.

Her defense wasn't anything worth acknowledging IMO. But she was still a freshman in college playing against national teams. I took that into consideration. She's an exceptional talent, and a very nice person, but none of us here have seen anything from her that should lead anyone to believe that she can play six rotations for the Trojans, including the two and a half (?) matches she played at Montreux, especially when the roster has all the personnel to run a highly effective and successful 6-2. I bet the rest of the Pac-12 coaches are hoping she plays six rotations too. I'd make her play every ball if she's back there: deep corner over her head, tip in front of her, make her dive, make her run balls down, etc. Then no one will have to worry about her come tourney time. She'll be exhausted!

Remember that's what they said about the 2004 Hawaii class after they lost that monster class, but that team was undefeated the whole year: now I don't think hawaii will be a top ten team, but never count them out I wasn't counting them "out"... Just not sure how viable a top 10 outlook is for such an inexperienced team. Especially one that doesn't return Kamana'o True, kamanao was the glue for that team, but I think EVERYONE was shocked how well that 2004 team did. I never thought a team that lost 3 all Americans, (gusting also had potential), 6 starters, would finish undefeated into tournament play. I thought they were going to struggle but they did amazing. But that year they also got a stud middle in prince, and Magill is a stud, so I hope the wahine can set her a lot.

It doesn't matter if Magill turns out to have a breakout year. The more important questions are: Is Higgins anywhere near Kamana'o in skill and experience? Do they have an outside who can pass as well as Boogaard did? Can Greeley perform as well as Hittle did, providing both offense and defense, while handling passing duties?
IMO, while the 2004 team were coming off a season that lost seven seniors including six starters, three All-Americans and the seventh player was the first one off the bench, they also returned Kamana'o, and that's all they needed. Boogaard has been starting since her freshman year and was already ripe for prime time, particularly in the passing department. Watanabe had a brilliant season, and then you had people like Prince, Arnott and Hittle. And subs like Fotu, Eckmier, Ong, Gregory, etc.
So, while it's possible that they make the top 10 as the season progresses, I don't think they'll be there in the first few weeks.

Now that Paulina Prieto is coming to Texas My starting lineup: OH1: Eckerman OH2: Baker MB1: Chi MB2: McCage OPP1: Prieto OPP2: Bell Setters: Collins and Dalton Libero: McCoy
Setters for OPPs and hopefully the OHs can play all 6 rotations if not DS Brooks for Baker. Texas should form the best lineup than any other team IMO

Look up players like Holly Tolliver, Megan Tompkins, Alyssa Gravelnik when you get a chance.

I doubt Kranda plays a single point this season.
