Wonder if mandatory tourneys will move there. I certainly hope so, the ASC could use some competition.
Eh, the new place will probably charge $20 for parking just like ASC does.
SCVA offices are at ASC, I don't see this new facility being able to unseat ASC's dominance for SCVA mandatory tournaments. They might pick up a few courts here and there if they offer SCVA a decent price break.
Personally, I don't think opening a mega gym facility in the OC was the greatest idea. At least for volleyball, that area is already saturated with megaclubs with megafacilities. Should have opened up a facility in areas of the SCVA where emerging clubs are gaining momentum and enrollment.

This is the most disappointing opening I've experienced since "John Carter". Misty May and the facility might be a reason people come to check it out in the first place, but the coaches are the reason they stay. You saw "John Carter?" I'm not sure your judgement can be trusted ever again

Well if volleyball doesn't do well, it seems that they have plans for income from other sports as well. SCVA was having issues with the ASC at the end of last year and was looking at other options for this coming year. They were considering running more mandatories at the convention center. So I think you might see more moving here than you think.

So I think you might see more moving here than you think. The SCVA does it to itself, most of the time. It hasn't managed the growth of club volleyball and the sheer number of teams and the number of courts necessary to conduct their SCVA Mandatory tourneys. The San Diego tournament is outgrowing itself, and they no longer have enough courts. Officials from LA don't want to travel to San Diego to ref the tournament because SCVA doesn't pay mileage, so there are many courts at the lower levels where the coaches have to ref. There's also the time period at the end of girls' season when teams are getting ready for the end-of-season regionals where there's an overlap with the boys' season as it picks up again after boys' high school ball is done, where the schedule is just ridiculous.

I wish the "video" on their homepage was more than a cheap PowerPoint slide show. Jeez, it didn't even have photos of the facilities or anything remotely interesting. Just text that is animated (it moves up and down).

I am a volleyball parent for years and my daughter plays now. I've done a lot of research on the MMTSC. Let me tell you it's going to be amazing and all other clubs will need to watch out. Parking, no problem. There will be 350 parking spaces at the facility and more across the street. 22 indoor courts with all more space to serve than the ASC and higher ceilings. 2 to 3 sand courts for a summer beach club. 8-10 investors so money is not a problem with Footsal, and basketball in there as well as boys and girls vball clubs, adult leagues, camps/clinics. million dollar restaurant overlooking to see my daughter practice and/or play in tournaments. Heard that SCVA already reserved every weekend except a couple for tournaments. Looked into the coaching staff and it's top coaches and directors. Plus, heard that Misty will be at all tryouts and there a few times a week. My daugther did her beach camp. Sounds great!
