Let's hear it. For instance, if Flo Hyman were still alive, I bet I know what hers would be.
Mine would have to be getting my glasses caught in the net on a block attempt. Shorts with pockets can also lead to embarrassment.

Probably the time when I was trying to execute a tricky back set to my opposite. Poor pass to position 4 that I was able to run down and get under, I attempted to whip the ball back over my head, but I didn't quite get my hands together enough and the ball ended up passing between my hands and directly onto my nose.

Probably the time when I was trying to execute a tricky back set to my opposite. Poor pass to position 4 that I was able to run down and get under, I attempted to whip the ball back over my head, but I didn't quite get my hands together enough and the ball ended up passing between my hands and directly onto my nose. I've had that happen before too. But when I haven't been playing a lot the depth perception for me can be dicey. I was playing and the opposing opp got a solo block isolation in transition I was playing either mb or right back I don't remember and he anhilated the ball but hit it very very flat and I misjudged it and got hit in the head I only had time to turn my head sideways. But the worst I've had is to misjudge a float serve and have it skip off the platform to my chest then face. Things like this donf happen very often embarrassing when they do. Or solo blocking and trying to take some line with right hand and angle with left and it gets skipped off the top of your head lol |

While running a drill, the cart was empty. I declared to a gym full of girls "I have no balls". (Yes I am male)

As a player, long story short, I went for a ball and ended up "mounting" Elaine Michaelis (she tried to get out the way, I tried to go over her). We ended up on the floor, me on top of her (she was wearing a skirt). Game was briefly postponed due to laughter by teams, officials, etc.
As a ref, I got a case of diarrhea, I mean severe, during the 2nd game. Player came over and told me they were having trouble hearing my whistle. Told her too bad, if I blew louder I would crap my pants. Called the R2 over during a time out, and with sweat dripping off my face, told him I was going to head to the officials room ALONE as soon as game was over, and he was not allowed to come in cuz, well, you know. Well, the 10 minute break turned in to a 20 minute break. When I came back out, both teams applauded (R2 had explained the situation). Hit me again in the 4th game. I called an officials time out and made a dash to the bathroom again. That was a long night.
Also went in to labor while reffing. But it was in the 5th game, so I managed. Had the baby 5 hours later.
Pants split as an R2 once. My fault for gaining weight between seasons.

Officiating a college match and during a rally the platform of the ref stand (which was set in place but not secured)tilted up and I went right through the bottom holding on to the top of the stand. Just hanging there. And NO, I was not overweight (at that time) and I was lucky I didn't go straight through. NC State's Brian Bunn was an assistant at the time, and came to my rescue, after rolling on the floor for several seconds of course.

I think I was wearing racquetball glasses, so there was a flangey thing on the side. (Like that's an excuse.) Gorf was always getting his hand caught in his pocket when he went up to block. That was always good for a laugh. |

Setting in the front row we had given up a big lead, and my hitters and I weren't connecting so I decide to try and go for a dump on the second touch. I successfully set the ball straight into the top of the tape. We lost 26-24.  Other personal favorites jump serving into fellow team members, once took a good float serve to the face (that damn ball was moving everywhere). |

They are worse outside they can move to the left down up or right like 3ft or more just before they get to your platform. |
