...... Thank You for all the joy and pain.
I think Mr. Newton uses just for men hair coloring.
Isn't Charlie suppose to be doing some work in Russia? I'm selfish, I hope it's not him.

Ok Beachman, 'give it up'! It's not polite to 'dangle' something like this out there and not finish by stating what you know. So, who is it? When will it be announced? How do you know (ie. - the credibility of your source)? Come on...

Well, Jan. 15 came and went; and now it is Jan. 20 and classes have started for the spring semester. Could they be holding the announcement back until the team is told? Can anyone supply some hints? We could guess on our own and then see if we were right.

Wolfgang, quite an interesting guess I could definitely see him wanting to get out of Iowa after the season they had this year!! If he goes, I wouldn't be surprised to see him take Melissa with him (it's a 'Long Beach Thing'). Then Rita would be searching for two assistants again! Hmmm, twice in two years...think the administration will finally figure out where the real 'change' needs to occur!? Almost there...one to go!

A poster on PrepVolleyball says it's current Cal asst Lee Maes. pub186.ezboard.com/fprepvolleyballfrm10.showMessage?topicID=472.topicIf it's true, then I'll be sad to see him go. Lee has always been good to me - from the time he was Cal's interim head coach, to his stint as the Cal men's VB club team HC, and then as Feller's top assistant. He did yell at me for wearing a Pacific VB t-shirt to a Spring VB match, but I now consider that a funny anecdote to tell.

I thought one of you Bear fans posted here that Lee Maes ain't going nowhere because of his great situation at Cal? If this "rumor" is true, it just goes to show nothing is certain in life except for death and Texas.

I thought he would have been a great HC when he applied for the Cal job in '98. I always knew he'd eventually be headed for a head coaching opportunity somewhere. However - I'm hoping this is all rumor and speculation, and he stays.

I don't think Chris Gonzales has his degree yet, unless he has finished it since leaving Long Beach. I had heard that was one of the issues that he had with Gimmillaro. I don't think he would be hired as a head coach at D1 level with out a B.A., at least.
