And in a great sign of the value of Texas Volleyball, GameDay will be at Gregory Gym for a pregame show at 6:30 pm. The show will be televised on the LHN. I believe this will be the 1st time GameDay covers Texas Volleyball.
Also, friends at the University have told me Directv will be announcing a contract with the LHN soon. If you have directv, I'm told the channel is in test mode and may already be listed on their channel guide. If I remember correctly from my directv days, the ESPN channels are listed in the 600 series.LHN announces pregame Volleyball show for Wednesday's match Longhorn Network will broadcast live inside Gregory Gym from 6:30-7 pm CT to lead into Iowa State match.AUSTIN, Texas - The Texas Longhorn volleyball team, currently ranked second in the country by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), will face Iowa State on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. CT. Longhorn Network will carry the first Big 12 conference matchup at home, and LHN will tipoff coverage with a live pregame show inside Gregory Gym beginning at 6:30 p.m. CT.
The half-hour courtside show will be a mix of interviews, locker room access, a Coaching 101 segment with head coach Jerritt Elliott and an inside look at a Texas practice leading into the match. In addition, the show will include a feature on senior Haley Eckerman, UT's three-time All-American who hails from the state of Iowa. . . .

Coaching 101 from Elliott-If we can get the kinks ironed out on the first and second contacts, with the talent we have, the third contact will be impressive.

If the direct tv rumor is true I'm thrilled . But, didn't see the channel in the 600s. Does anybody know if the LHN is actually being tested already on direct tv?

I think LHN provided some pre-game coverage immediately before the national title match in Louisville in 2012. Not necessarily a "GameDay" show, but welcomed coverage nonetheless.

Hope this is the beginning of a trend for LHN GameDay and volleyball. GameDay also does pre game for several men's basketball home games.
Wondering if GameDay will be set up outside Gregory or on the court.

www.cyclones.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=10700&ATCLID=209687919Cyclone Headlines Iowa State finishes up its three-match road swing with one of its biggest tests of the season as the Cyclones head into No. 2 Texas Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The Cyclones, the last Big 12 team to defeat Texas back in Nov. 2012, is off to a rought start in its Big 12 campaign, as ISU fell at TCU in four sets.
Victoria Hurtt led the Iowa State attack with 11 kills, which Mackenzie Bigbee chipped in 10 kills. ISU recorded 10 aces, its second time in 2014 with at least 10 (11 vs. Tulsa) with Alexis Conaway recording a career-best four against the Horned Frogs. Freshman Branen Berta led the Iowa State defense with a career-high 11 digs. Berta had nine digs on the season coming into the match.
Caitlin Nolan has continued ISU’s tradition of great liberos, ranking second in the Big 12 and ranking 20th in the NCAA with 5.11 digs per set. Nolan, the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week after the first weekend of the season, has also helped lead ISU’s service game at 0.32 aces per set, ranking 9th in the Big 12.
Alexis Conaway has been the key figure in Iowa State’s blocking revolution. Conaway ranks second in the Big 12 and 23rd in the NCAA with her 1.43 blocks per set. Conaway has posted at least 5.0 total blocks in seven of Iowa State’s last eight matches.
Iowa State now ranks fifth in the Big 12 and 79th nationally in blocks per set. Last season, ISU spent the entire campaign at last in the Big 12 and among the lowest ranked teams in the country in blocking.
Three of Iowa State’s four losses in 2014 have come to some of the top squad’s in the country. Stanford is the No. 1 team in the country, and Florida State has moved up to No. 5 with an 13-0 record and Minnesota is No. 18 in the nation.

I'm hoping for Texas in 4 tonight.
I hope to see Prieto on the RS if the 6-2 is run. If a 5-1 is used, I'd like to see her as the 2nd OH to see what she can do.

This will be my first time seeing ISU play this season. Based on results so far, it seems this may be their weakest team in 8 years or so. Unfortunate with them hosting a Regional this season.
