Gillis has a 50% error rate on her attacks midway through Set 2. Like I said, she looks great against inferior opponents, like in the early rounds of AAU tourney's... Against a team that can ball, she's mediocre, at best (SHERMAN)..... ok honestly, she's not mediocre, I just wanted to make a Sherman reference.... but IMO she's not playing up to her prep ranking. Some of her offense woes can be attributed to USC's setting problems, but apparently, more midwest centric volleyball fans have said that her backcourt is her strongest attribute...Well, I don't see it. |

Gillis may be the most overrated recruit of this class I always find it interesting when top 10 recruits go to different regions of the country to play college ball. Frankly, gillis should have stayed in the midwest and Alexa Smith of this upcoming year should have stayed west. now SHE'S gonna be a stud. |

Who are the two announcers? I thought the lady sounded like Beth Mowins, but did I hear another name for her? Shar? Char? And the man is an "Al" who coached at UCLA. Obviously not Al Scates.  who? update...My bad! I have never heard the voice of Al Scates before, and didn't know he was traveling and doing TV vb color. Figured he had just totally retired. Haven't seen the camera on the announcers. I understand announcers are not at UW. In a TV studio someplace. At sign off after match done, woman said her name was Cristal? Chris? Didn't catch the last name. |
