"Hater-ade"?? Am I missing something? LOL . . . I was just going with the fact that Gatorade was developed for the University of Florida, and I was opting to hate momentarily. Just me being a weirdo. I was a Gator in my HS days, so I don't really hate.

I'd rather be weird than OLD!!!! I'm quite content with my being a weird old dumbass with additional propensities towards being a loquacious dorkish nerd.

Gatorade award seems to favor seniors, for example in North Carolina Rebecca Brinkley got it, a very deserving person, but is not even in the same class as sophomore Megan Hodge. I know Molly Pyles got the North Carolina Gatorade State player of the Year twice, I am sure there are many more ... I am just not sure. Kristin Richards won it in Utah in 2001 and 2002 before being named National POY in 2003.

Kristin Richards won it in Utah in 2001 and 2002 before being named National POY in 2003. Her older sister Lauren also won the state award for 2 straight years. Even though Kristin was named National POY in 2003, she was actually the 2002 national POY because the award was given early the year after which meant that the 2003 national POY will be named soon

Hawai`i has three of them, but only two will enter the Wahine program next season. So maybe the Wahine will get several more for 2005 along with Otineru. Have any of you Wahine fans seen Cubi-Otineru play in High School? I live on Maui and curious about her. I read that she has a 30" vertical jump and being Hawai'i State Player of the Year in her Jr. year says a lot. She sounds like someone Kanoe will connect well with.It will be interesting to see if Dave will redshirt her.
