I just finished watching this match on replay. First time I've seen both teams play this season. Pollmiller is tragic. That is all.
Also, I really like Hannah Werth. Her and Maria Taylor are the only player-turned-commentators I can bear to listen to. I don't get all the hate. Does anyone remember Kellie Tennant? Yeah.

She tells it like it is.

Game point in third set displays an ugly side of K Rolfzen that might go a long way to explaining the lack of "team" displayed by Nebraska this year. That look of sheer disdain for Ostrander was not a stank face.

Kadie is a prima donna who is great to play with when things are going great but if she is struggling and someone makes an error, look out "If looks could kill"

Does having almost as many errors as kills count as struggling? If so, Kadie was struggling all match.
Does Coach Cook do anything at all to help team chemistry, or does he just let things fester? Sure, he drew the line on his stud Pavan... but only after she stunk up her whole final season (2007) with her negativity.

Last season, Robinson was able to keep all the players in check, even during rough patches in matches. A great example of this was when they played up in Minneapolis last November and won in 5 after being crushed in sets 2 and 4. There is no accountability out on the floor right now for Nebraska. The senior Pollmiller might be a good leader off the court, but she is not leading by example through her play at all.

So your saying he's to blame for Kadies poor sportsmanship? I guess if he tolerates it or pampers one over the other. Seems counterproductive.

As an Illinois fan, I thought she did great and was unbiased. Referenced her past, both growing up on Illinois club and high school scene and playing at Nebraska, without it being too much about herself. Making it about herself was her biggest problem by far. She brought something personal into every single comment, throughout the entirety of the match. And when you continually begin each comment with "Again" and "like I said", then you just have to realize that you're talking too much or needlessly. I like Werth, but hate her as a commentator. How many "definitely" can she say in a match? Also, I think she needs to speak louder and less in a monotone voice. Overall impression: probably needs more practice.

Rolfzen came into the huddle with one thing on her mind and made sure that Ostrander got the full effect before she walked away. I'd say some mirror time is going to be necessary for her to realize what ails Nebraska currently.

Si how many practice broadcasts do new commentators get. We bitch about the one's that don't know much about the game so we get recent players which is smart. But they and the network need to work after matches. Do they review? Tone, repeating the same phrases, right names, working with a partner. Werth has potential but needs to put in the work. Not show up, warm up, screw up.

Sportscasting is a skill that is improved with review and practice. I hope BTN invests in these former players that they have gotten to call matches, helping them improve.

Throws up stones to hit that just die. Hannah gives decent insights but is monotone and quiet-talking. It's disconcerting for an announcer.

Great job by the Illini, Criswell was fun to watch as well as their libero. Nebraska has serious leadership issues, no one looked like they had any energy out there today. The Huskers' weakness in the middle is maddening..only 6 kills apiece from Hall and Haggerty. Hall had a nice match, but she needs to demand the ball. Pollmiller needs to watch tape from 2012 and take note of how Lauren set Haggerty, the current pace on the slide is so slow.. It is most definitely Mary, not Haggerty, that is the issue in NE. Haggerty was amazing her freshman year and she hasn't sniffed a consistent or decent slide since then.
