Michelle Wie had an impressive showing at the 2004 Sony Open at the Waialae Country Club.
Wie drew a record crowd showing that she has game in the sport of golf.
She just missed the cut by one stroke today at the Sony Open. But that is still really impressive as Michelle Wie just turned 14 in October and she is currently a freshman at Punahou School.

Yes she is tall. She is between the 5-10 and 6-0 range. She's taller than Tiger Woods.

Seriously though, her accomplishments are SO cool. And I would compliment her on her ability to address the media (though I am sure she has a PR person). I see good things for her in the future grasshopper . . . |

She definitely has a bright future with all the accomplishments already.
Yeah I know with that height she should have been playing volleyball. But she is excelling in golf so maybe that is where she is suppose to be.

Well, this may be an odd tangent from the topic, but it brings it closer to volleyball. If a woman was good enough to play on the men's side, should she be allowed to?
For volleyball, its a rather difficult progression, since the net is higher and requires so much more power and speed than any woman currently has. I don't think players like Willoughby, Tom, Cruz, and the likes of them can't compete with men's teams. But should there be a seperation, especially in sports like golf where not as much athleticism exists than in sports like volleyball, tennis, basketball, and so on.

Yes she is tall. She is between the 5-10 and 6-0 range. She's taller than Tiger Woods. I believe that Tiger is in the 6' to 6'1" range, so she must be closer to 6' if she is as tall as Tiger  She looks like the next big women's superstar though! |

I graduated from Punahou last year and she was in 8th grade then and I saw her somewhere on campus and she is definitely a monster. A solid 6'0''. What was funny is that her friends are these tiny under 5'0'' Asian girls.

Yes Tiger did state last week that "He didn't realize that Michelle Wie was taller than I am." So either Tiger Woods' height is exaggerated by a couple inches or Michelle Wie is taller than listed. |

She gives refreshingly good interviews, or at least the ones I saw. Not nervous at all and has her wits about her to make jokes.
