Saw a few glimpses of NPJ Forefront games at the Windy City Qualifier last weekend. From what I saw, Alexis Haury moved well and her sets were quick and deceptive. That team is loaded with talent, which includes: Kyleene Filimaua (Florida State), Alex Acevedo (Oregon). These three are the current Gatorade player of the year from the states of Washington, Idaho and Oregon, respectively.

I didn't see enough to judge, but I think she was setting 5-1.

Couple of updates: Summers will not be returning for the 2023 season. That leaves us with an incoming freshman (Wessels) and a redshirt freshman (Hani), hopefully Gabriel can pick up a MB from the transfer portal. Rumors of Grote to UW!

Edit: No UW volleyball listed on her instagram profile, so i guess you are right. Wow, huge blow on our depth for middles. That sucks. She was one of the few bright spots last season. Her blocking really improved as the season went on.

Maybe she is planning on graduating in 2023 .... In her UW Volleyball bio, last season she was listed as a 4th year sophomore.

Quite possible, but at this point the only indication that Sophie won't be back this coming season is a single VT post. Could happen, but I'll wait for something from her or UW before I'm convinced.

This is Summers's fourth year in college (redshirt + COVID + two normal seasons). Is she getting a degree this spring?
I have no information about whether she will be on the team next year or not, but it's certainly not inconceivable that she might be graduating this spring and moving on to another phase of her life.

Love Sofie and I’m hoping it’s just speculation and if she continues volleyball she will stay and play under Coach Gabriel. But you never know life/degree plans. Wish her the best whatever her future holds.

Sophie is a very good student who has definite plans for her post-volleyball life. I just hope these are at least another 11 months away. And at UW.

Suggestion (hopeful comment!) on the Minnesota thread that Cook might be encouraging her to go to Minnesota as they are in need of a middle???
