I feel like Washington needs a new fan favorite. It doesn't have to be a national star or even the star for the team. Someone like a Jill Collymore or Gabbi Parker. With her soccer style saves, that could already be Lauren Bays.

IMO the best Libero's aren't the ones that make flashy, dangerous plays, where they do little more than keep the ball off the ground, they are the ones usually in position to accurately dig the ball to target, preferably using their platform. We don't need a libero to touch every ball, we need them to control the balls they do touch so that the setter can run a 2+ option offense.

I know a ton of incredible Liberos that would adamantly disagree with this. It would be nice to see Washington get a franchise player again. However they’ve had great teams recently, despite not having any standout athletes.

My recollection is that each time she has made a play like this it was tracking down the ball after another player's first touch. Besides, the question was about a fan favorite, not perfect platforms.

Bays is the fire-plug. I'm hoping that Endsley, Bush, and Wilmes can step up.

Watching Triple Crown 17 Elite Finals right now. Julia Hunt from NKYVC is very impressive. I hope she will still come to UW in 2024

Haury - 2024 setting recruit, also had a great weekend at triple crown with NPJ - which has Acevedo (Oregon) and, perhaps a switch school recruit ( ) Filimaua.

Depends on why she wanted to play at UW. If it was to be developed by Keegan, it doesn't look good. If she wants to come for the academics or a connection with Tui and the team, then a good chance of still coming here.

Well, she committed to play indoors and beach at Florida State a few years ago and never seemed to have an interest in Washington. Maybe she likes Tui

Do you think Kyleene may switch? *shrug*. I found it interesting that she personally commented on Tui's announcement as head coach - no inside knowledge re this one. Even if she wanted to, I'm not sure how it works with signed LNI's. Manning signed an LNI with Washington, but she's apparently switching to A&M (I'm not upset about this though, we have setter depth and she's not a good enough hitter to make a difference). I DO think she's a skilled OH that could provide some depth for Washington, however our first concern is a good middle (preferably two) and an experienced passing OH in the spring portal.
