Only if she transferred to a SEC school which I don't think that is a possibility. Nope, if she isn't released by LSU she has to sit out a year no matter where she goes. She will get her release.

I would think Fran would not want other potential recruits to consider this as a negative if they were not happy at a school or program and worry they would not get a release as well. (I do not know if Holman was unhappy or the reason for the request)

All I heard (from an ass't coach at another program) is that LSU isn't inclined to give her a release. That could of course change. And there are a number of reasons why coaches have refused to release in the past - School A is convinced the player was poached by school B, anger, leverage, Team A has Team B on their schedule next season etc. Releases are often not just cut and dried, particularly for a high profile player. And I don't think it's an issue recruits dwell on.

Heard the same that she isn't getting released to anyone. And this isn't typical but is correct she would have to sit anywhere. Now if she went outside the sec then she might be able to play if she pays/walks on.(not certain about that) But if someone just snagged your best player than I get the not releasing her. It's a crappy situation for Fran and I feel sorry for her and the program.

I don't think so. The NLI only governs that when it comes to be a scholarship athlete. She can go to any school she wants if she pays her way. There may be an eligibility issue with the number of years she has remaining to complete.

There may be an eligibility issue with the number of years she has remaining to complete. LSU obviously can't prevent her from enrolling at another institution. But I think the point is that without a release she has to sit a year regardless of whether she's a walk on or 'shipped at the new school..

Washington could really use her. She's an amazing player. I'm really happy she got first team.

Let's be real. Any All-America who opts to transfer can play anywhere. The key criteria is what she - or any transfer is looking for. This often lies in the culture or the coaching. This crap about this team or that team will be best for the recruit is really ridiculous.

My spidey sense says Nebraska... Big Buck will have a lot of firepower to work with next year in her first year setting. Huskers will go from being average at siding out to being one of the most terminal teams in the country. RS- Foecke MH- Holman L1- K. Rolfzen L2- A. Rolfzen
