there might be a thread on this already, if there is someone please post it. I am thinking ahead at the Olympics in Rio as other teams are only getting better and will have their complete rosters. If Tom came back to the NT, would she play over Larson? if you had to choose, who would you start right now?

I know Hill had a great tournament, but why not start Tom/Larson unless Hill beats one of them outright

Karch doesn't like Tom, she's not coming back.

It's quite sad for the sport, when the best players are removed from the team because of a coach's ego problem.

Yeah, USA volleyball is in real trouble these days.

Even sadder when the resident apologist enters the thread, Tom should've been on that podium too.

Coaches egos or players? Coaches can't just give in to players demands, behavior, whatever.

if I had to pick between Tom and Larson right now I would go with Tom, she can do everything on the court, I think in London whenever the setter was out she would set... she is just too good, Larson is not bad but Tom just beats her out.

Logan Tom Has done so many great things for USA Volleyball. I remember how bad we were struggling when she left after Athens I think it was. Then she came back during a World Cup I believe it was and from there the team took off and made it to the Gold Medal match. For all that she has done for us here in the country, she is the one player I would love to see more than anyone with a Gold Medal around her neck. I know that Karch had said he was going with a younger crew of outside hitters, and yes they produced well enough to win in Italy, but can they continue to improve for the next two years? My thought was to bring Logan back and out her at libero. Since Karch is having our libero play middle back defense it makes complete sense. She was our best defensive player (outside of Sykora). Not a knock on Kayla, but let's be honest....LT middle back or Kayla, I pick Logan everytime!

This match is probably not helping your argument much. Partizan is putting a team on the court that is younger than most NCAA teams (they started a 16yo, a 17yo and a bunch of 20-21yo). Partizan is basically a bunch of students who aren't either old enough or good enough to be sold to a good team. One would think that Cannes would completely dominate this match, not squeak by in 5 sets.

what worked well with Hugh is that he leaned on Logan and Scott because of not just their playing skills but their knowledge of the women's game and to understand the team. As good as Logan is she was always humbled and would follow direction. Karch just wanted to wipe out everything Hugh taught the girls which would make sense being the new coach but to strip a player the only player to put women's volleyball on the map in the US and she changed the game internationally because if you look at other countries players are trying to be like her and she brought the game big time to the US where coaches are trying to have mini Logan's it sad the one man's jealousy of trying to bring down a successful honored and best female volleyball athlete the US and probable world will ever have that is versatile and humble. I thought we were past the time where a man would not discriminate against a woman and would want her to do well not put her down. LOL. Is this for real?

It makes me laugh when someone with only a few posts starts a topic that no one really cares about at this time. And then beats a dead horse about players and coaches. Yawn
