Cause that worked out so well? ok who do you think should be the head coach and why? Jeff Stork. Pepperdine legend, very good track record as a head coach under limited means at CSUN, knows every club coach in SoCal...he's the most obvious, and the best, choice Pepp could make. No disrespect to Scott.

Any chance Hawaii could go to a 6-2? You don't need a great setter, just a couple good ones. Opens up another OPP spot. Helps recruiting, in that you've got more playing time to offer. Ask USC how that worked for them this year.... You need good setting, even in a 6-2. You need good, not great setting. USC actually switched to a 5-2 - different system, with all the disadvantages (but none of the advantages) of both a 5-1 and a 6-2. Their problem was that Nwanabu couldn't jump and Gillis couldn't pass.

Saw the CCCAA championship match today, which Irving Valley won in four sets. Annie Mitchem started as a middle, but was hitting from the pins in certain plays as an OH. She could be the terminator that was lacking in the Hawaii attack this past season. She has a quick armswing, quick feet, excellent jumper, and brings the heat. She should get a shot at outside come next Fall. Magill, Maglio and Castillo can handle the middles. I agree. If Mitchem is as good a passer as Pestolesi says she is, then I think Dave will use her on the outside just like he did with Hartong. He needs an outside that can be a dependable passer. Tai got better this year but not much better. She will lose her starting position if she doesn't work on her passing (serve receive especially) in the offseason....

Adolpho is big loss, she really turned it on in the second half of the season, her blocking picked-up and finished 2nd in the Big West behind teammate Magill, her hitting was really good as well. Sarah Mendoza as well.

Manu Olevao improved a lot in her passing, that was the bright spot in her game this year, it is her hitting. She continues to struggle against good blocking teams, and making unnecessary hitting errors under pressure. Excited about next year's team, wished Adolpho had one more year to play. Her presence this year was a difference maker for the Wahine.

I couldn't agree with you more on Hawaii's setter.... terrible on connecting with her middles consistently.
I would love to see the freshman Koelsch get a shot next season. She sure looks like she loves the game and has an infectious smile all the time.

my prediction for 2015 is that greeley granato and mitchem will be hawaiis pin hitters.
granato is the real deal and if you think greeley is good, granato outshined her when their two clubs met earlier this year - mind you granato was only a junior. she's got great defense, a wicked jump serve:, a variety of shots and hits a really heavy ball.
dave will not retire while mitchem is at hawaii.

You're absolutely out of your mind if you think taylor won't be a pin hitter. I do think granato will start, but in place of tai and Mitchem will stay in the middle. Or a 6-2 will be ran with taylor and maybe Mitchem or Castillo on the right.

That was because Hagglund Shaw and Bricio passing. That made the setting look better because passing was good. USC tried a 6-2 this year with Gillis, Whittingham, and Bricio passing. That didnt work.
