I don't really care who's coming or going so long as Maglio is in the middle. I really really really really want maglio in the middle. She's my favorite player and while I could see mitchem moving to the OH, that leaves granato or tai on the bench. IF he does that, I hope he redshirts Granato, because she needs to have four years of playing time.

Emily Maglio is a sweet, sweet girl, and I give her a load of credit for coming here without an official visit to UH. And it has paid off as she is really enjoying her college time here with her roomie Kalei Greeley. However, I don't see Annie Mitchem changing positions and will start with Olivia Magill in the middle. Emily M. will be a starter in 2016 and 17. I'm sure that Shoji will give Mags a lot of court time this coming Fall.

Is there a possibility that Shoji could go with a 3-MB lineup with one of the MB listed as an OPP? I mean Shoji has done that before so maybe if both Maglio and Mitchem both practice lights out and both need to be in the lineup, then that would be a setup. I heard the Mitchem can pass so she could be use in the passing rotation if Greely, Tai or Nikki ever struggle.

Not bad, but not extraordinary like greeley. She will definitely be targeted at the d1 level, but I feel she could become a solid passer.

My feelings is that I highly doubt that Dave is considering a 3 MB offense, with all of the hitters he has onboard. Returning 3, Tai, Kalei and Nikki, with Megan from the bench, incoming McKenna, Casey and a probable 3rd OH (the mysterious unknown) he had recently signed. Seven OHs for 3 spots.

Looking forward to the arrival of Mitchem, Granato, and Castillo. Seems like we have potential upgrades in the middle and/or outside positions. I'm especially curious to see how Castillo has been playing lately, as she has nice size and was mentioned as a possible top 10 attacker and passer by JT on Senior Aces, had it not been for the injury.

I don't think you will see Castillo doing much passing at all.

Depending on how good Granato and Castillo are, Olevao could lose her starting job. I think the middles will be Magill and Mitchem. If the latter is as good as advertised, I don't see Maglio playing much.
Too bad UH doesn't have much talent at setter. I think UH can afford to have a front row-only OH. All their returning DS are good enough to play three rotations in the back.
OH Greeley Olevao Granato Castillo
MB Magill Mitchem Maglio Burns Huff
S Higgins Koelsch
OPP Taylor Granato Castillo Koelsch Huff
L/DS Kahakai Guinasso Ponce Anderson
+ unnamed walk-ons

If Maglio doesn't start, I may have to boycott the 2015 season.

If Maglio doesn't start, I may have to boycott the 2015 season. Like how you almost boycotted the 2003 season when Cayley Thurlby didn't start? Hehehe. It will be different not seeing Ginger Long and her sad eyes this season.
