BYU's middles are there to block. If PSU can contain Gray and Hamson, BYU is dead meat. But if they can go off, it's anyones match. The BYU block is the key to the match...............if Penn St. goes over or through it they will be blown out. Remember BYU is like the all their missionaries and the BLUES Brothers...................they are on a "MISSION FROM GOD" If I'd have said that, you'd accuse me of being arrogant!

Love what BYU has done this year, but have to be cheering for PENN STATE! Can't wait for the match to start! Go PSU. Would love to see it go five with Penn State winning, but I picked them to win in four.

Brigham Young University's official colors are BYU Blue, White, and BYU Gray. BYU BLUE/ BYU GRAY? Now that is arrogant. BTW BYU will have the most international audience in the history of the NCAA womens volleyball finals. BYU Has missionaries in 120 countries.

So PSU will start with Hancock serving, or in rotation 2 if they're receiving. Is there a preferred matchup for BYU? They're going to be the team that can get whatever they want, but I'm not sure what that would be. Just maximize Gray's front row time and leave it at that?

I actually think if they match up Hamson with Courtney, she'll be in trouble. Courtney is a phenomenal pin blocker.

One key for BYU will be not letting Penn State string together points behind Hancock's serve. Yes, her serve is wicked but her location is also consistent, she doesn't spread the ball over the court targeting players. BYU can choose whom she serves to. I thought Wisconsin's backcourt did a good job in last year's final keeping the ball in play, but then again they are known for their floor defense, unlike BYU.

Psu was going around Stanford's block other night and splitting it. Maybe that's what they do tonight. Psu's offensive is a lot faster then Texas. Gives blockers less time to get to ball. Plus they have more weapons. Byu can't cheat at net against psu

Benefit of Hancock. She holds opposing players. Keeps them honest. That will def be missed after this year

I'd like to hope that Sports Illustrated is planning a feature on the final four. Whoever wins, it's a great story. PSU wins 6 out of eight for an incredible run, or unseeded BYU upsets a leading program of the women's game! Who cares about the next-to-last weekend of the NFL season?

LA Times has only a tiny mention of the match under "THE DAY IN SPORTS":
COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL NCAA WOMEN'S TOURNAMENT At Oklahoma City Today's Championship BYU (30-4) vs. Penn State (35-3), 4 p.m.
So I wonder, what are/were Yesterday's Championship, Tomorrow's Championship, etc., for college volleyball?
But we don't have to wonder why college volleyball does not draw here.

I'd probably want to match Hamson on Frantti. I think that has the potential for a very big differential for BYU.

Did BYU and PSU have any common opponents this past season?
