Washington should not complain either. I thought they were the best team in nation--up until the point where they got crushed at home by underdog Nebraska. Crushed? 25-20; 20-25; 22-25; 27-29. Actually "Crushed" is the perfect word for that scenario that played out. It was a powerful loss.

I don't know if crushed is the right word. They were close sets. If that was crushed then what word would describe psu shalacking last year. The end result same but the match itself not even close

That game got buried. Never on TV except briefly on LHNetwork. not considered in the RPI or seeding. Still, six in the final poll is good considering the four losses. I am proud of our ladies, will be at the awards banquet, and in the SFC gym for every game next year! I'm dreading the switch to Santa Fe next season, especially since Florida will likely be very good and will have to play in that crappy gym. I'll have to leave work even earlier to get way out there on Friday nights to be sure to get a seat. I wonder if any of the matches will even be televised.

Texas should be #4. They made the FF and are a very good ball club. Southern Cal out of the top 25 for the 1st time in Mick's 14 year reign makes sense as a .500 ball club. I think the AVCA acknowledged TX's draw had more to do with them making the final four than their truly being the second seed (WI ahead of them). Just sayin'. Good team, but benefitted from cheesecake before losing to BYU. Texas WAS OVER SEEDED......................but it seems almost every year they over seeded.

Stanford should be favorite next year with that 2012 class being seniors. PSU will be the prohibitve favorite next season.................Megan Courtney is the best player I have seen in person since Logan Tom, April Ross and Misty May. That young woman is a great player.

I don't think Megan Courtney is as consistent as those ladies you listed... but do I think she's a Big Match Player... Absolutely and I want her on my team every time she finds a way to put to ball down no matter the set location.

Hmmm... Ross three-time AA, Tom and May four-time, and NPOYs. Courtney is great player, and rises to the occasion in big matches. If she plays to her ability next year, she will be first team AA. But it is hard to compare someone who might be AA once in her career, to players that were AA three or four years and NPOYs. As for PSU, as long as RR is there, they will be favorites every year!

Yet she wasn't even an HM in the Big Ten or AVCA. National Championship MOP will be her consolation prize.

Listen I am not a coach or an expert on any of this, but that young woman can hit any spot on the floor with remarkable consistency.

Stanford has to be pre-season #1 next year. It was silly to make PSU pre-season #1, after losing three Senior All-Americans, who had won two NCs.
Next year, the team loses even more, particularly with the graduation of their brilliant setter and NPOY Micha Hancock and DS and libero Dominique Gonzales, plus DS Lacey Fuller. Not minimizing the loss of Nia Grant, but feel she can be replaced.
I think Megan Courtney will take Micha's place as the team leader, and I think the Pierce sisters will hold their own in the back court, but not do as well as what we had this year.
Next pre-season, I would have Stanford and Wisconsin in the top 2 spots. The only reason voters would think about making PSU pre-season #1 is for the teams they lose to early to feel good about it. The way Stanford crowed over beating #1 Penn State at the beginning of the year, when the Lions were breaking in two freshmen, didn't have their top recruit Washington, and had lost three All-Americans, was a way over-the-top response. Frankly, they might have wanted to curb their enthusiasm and feel somewhat chagrined after having Penn State take them to 5 on their home court, especially since they had such an experienced team.

All the pressure is on stanford. The two highly touted classes of all time. We'll psu got there's as freshman now. This is Stanford's last shot
