Would be hard to keep her off the floor for 2023, this upcoming season is the one Oregon should want to maximize. Basically the entire starting lineup is gonna be super seniors. Already going to be super seniors if Gabi wins the OH spot + Mimi (2 super-super seniors*). May have been the way to get her and to be able to pay for the 1 2/3 years of scholarship... This is one OLD lineup! OH: Mimi/Gabi MB: *Bacon/McGee S: *Pukis OPP: Lewis (McClellan RB?-Junior) L: Murphy Look at the Potential B team: OH: Acevedo/Kelly MB: Ofoegbu/Neal S: Ferrera/Cline OPP: Gloever L: Kate Getting some great reps for 2024!!

Bacon was getting benched some this season, why would they not sit her for Onye?

Bacon and Neal will fight for M1, McGhee for M2, and then Ofeogbu takes that spot in '24 having a year working with setter Cline on the B side in practice. The B side is going to be sickening.

Pretty sure Bacon was only "benched" because of broken finger and then recovering.

This seems like pretty good reasoning why Ofoegbu should choose Pitt over Oregon. What All-American is looking to transfer schools and upend their life only to practice, travel, and then not play? I realize that elite athletes won't shy away from a challenge ...

So Onye is redshirting this year? To me it doesn’t make sense to transfer somewhere to sit, and play the next year. But that’s just me. Lol!

Well, if you have one year of eligibility, want a 2-year master's degree and want both years paid for, it's a great way to do it! Edit: It helps Oregon with only one returning middle for 2024.

But does she get to make the decision on redshirting, or is it up to the coach? I mean it would kind of suck if she didn’t redshirt this year, and then not get a scholarship her last year.

I have a feeling that was the deal. But, there are ways to pay for an extra year to complete a degree if the situation got dire (Injuries). But all three other middles are excellent, and the Ducks should be good as long as they all stay healthy.
