Won't this be the first NCAA men's final without a team from Cali?

actually, their average age is 21.333, to hawaii's 20.944, to pepperdine's 20, to byu's 22.07, so lewis is older than some teams, but they aren't older than the byu team they are playing in the national championship game. And their average age is definatly not 25. That is quite possibly the first time i have ever heard anyone say that they would rather play at quincy than lewis. Quincy is terrible, most good college club teams can beat them, even with their supposedly strong recruiting class coming in, they still won't amount to anything. They'll be luck to take a game off of anyone other than Findlay or clarke next year in their conference.

I wonder though what's the average age of just their starters, or just the players that actually play. I heard the setter is 27 and will be back next year. Would you know that info?

True Quincy was never that good, but their school is working hard to get a good solid program. If you would quit being narrow minded and open to new programs maybe the US volleyball level would improve. I dont think Quincy sucks, they had some good players come out of their program, a guy named Steinkueler and more recently their middle from brazil. I know that they did not accomplish anything but if you ask anybody in the MIVA they would say that those guys were decent.
Their recruting class is probably the strongest in the MIVA so maybe in the next 3 years they will improve...

I heard the setter is 27 and will be back next year. Would you know that info? actually he's 28, meaning he was 10 years older than some of his opponents last night [i.e. pepperdine middle blocker andy hein], and yes he will be back next year

well, actually he is 27, with his birthday being 11/21/75, so he's not 10 full years older hein, not that the one year makes much difference. He will be turning 28 right before the season, so i guess that it doesn't really matter. I would do the average ages for the starters, but i have no clue who starts for BYU and i have go to class now, so maybe i'll do it later. I'm glad that quincy is building a solid program because we need more of them in the midwest. And i misspoke about them sucking. They do not have a good record because of the conference that they play in. I am fully open to the expansion of volleyball, especially in the midwest because there aren't many oppertunities other than the D1 schools around here for people who want to play in college. There are the club teams, but that is not as fufilling as being a varsity athlete at the college level. True they do have a great recruiting class, but I think that some of their players are not as good as they are made out to be. Pretty much anyone out of chicago on their team isn't as good as people say. You can bring up the whole YNT thing, but truth is they only made it because they played Premier, who always has someone on the YNT. Just my opinion on that.

The quincy class is no bad but they are not explosive players and really don't have much room to improve.
the Premier team which has had pretty good success as 16's and 17's over the pst two years has reached their peak. The are being passed by teams who can go to the next level like Spri, Adversity, and FLyers.
I do not see any of this years Quincy class becoming elite MIVA players.
But with that being said the East and Midwest as a whole will be due for some MAJOR changing of the guard. Huge holes to fill as alot of college seniors graduate.
Maybe we can find some 25 year-old club or NAIA player to fill in.
