Alix Klineman's monster stats every single weekend in her senior season got her almost no Pac-12 POW awards. For some reason I don't understand, Mick's players never seem to have those problems... most likely because they conform to stereotypes for their positions.

Alix Klineman's monster stats every single weekend in her senior season got her almost no Pac-12 POW awards. For some reason I don't understand, Mick's players never seem to have those problems... most likely because they conform to stereotypes for their positions. They only had one award for each week, not three, and she still racked up 7 POW honors, one of the highest totals. The all-time list from the 2014 PAC-12 media guide: Logan Tom: 9 Natalie Williams: 8 Alix Klineman: 7 Christal Morrison: 7 All those numbers are likely to end up being eclipsed, though, as there are now three two chances every week to win an award. I'm pretty sure Krista Vansant blew past all of them last year, because she started 2014 with 6. [Edit: the totals on the list include "Player of the Week" (from the pre-2011 era) and "Offensive POW" and "Defensive POW" from the last four years. They do not include "Freshman of the Week".] [Edit2: Strangely enough, when I look at the week-by-week list I see Klineman won it 3 times as a senior, and once each of her other three years. Which adds up to ... 6. So either I missed something, or the grand total was wrong, or the week-by-week lists are wrong.]

Yup. I just downloaded the 2015 Media Guide. Vansant now has the most, with 10 POW awards. Karsta Lowe also now has 7.
Still, it's pathetically wrong to be whining that Alix Klineman was overlooked for the PAC-12 POW awards.

If Bricio keeps playing like she did this last weekend, she should win it every week (I know, won't happen).

I am a Stanford fan, and nothing about Alix's career would I refer to as monster. She was good, and she had good stats, but nothing about it was monster.

Her senior year Klineman hit about .370 + 6.5 pps. Those are monster stats for an OH. Looking at the Pac 12 archives, a Stanford player won POW five times in 2010, more than double any other school. And Stanford wasn't even the best team in the conference. I think the Card have gotten plenty o' love from whoever selects POW.

You were probably distracted during the matches by that stupid tree mascot.
