In regards to Kessel bringing up medal success in the men's game opposed to the women's game I believe it stems from the fact that because there are so few collegiate programs for our boys to play at the level of play in the top three leagues is incredibly high- just a notch below professional. The talent base in the women's game is really spread out.... So our men players are being challenged and pushed every practice every match. There are third string players who are great. The systems the men run are the same speed and tempo of top pro leagues- and great athletes abound. Just think at the level of play the women would have if there were only 4 or 5 leagues that were playing.... Just a thought
