She played for Washington. She again was one of the best all-around OHs in the country. 4.67 k/set .320 Yeah.... I remember that. I guess I thought that she had joined a profession team after the first of the year. I guess she didn't. Ah sorry. I don't believe she joined a professional team after her NCAA season. She was finishing up her degree at UW.

Really excited to see Lowe, Hodge, Robinson, and Kreklow. A guaranteed place in the Final Round hopefully means we get to see some new faces/reserve players on longer leashes. Agree; By being the 'Host', the USA can work a little more on development of players instead of absolutely having to do well to qualify. Excited to see if Lowe and Vansant can make a contribution, and watch the further development of last years young ones - Adams, Dixon, Robinson ... * Surprised there is no Micha Hancock listed, unless she is training in Anaheim. I thought as a 'serving specialist' she could be a difference maker in a close match ( maybe 2-3 straight points), and the USA could slowly train her 'setting' in their system.

Hancock isn't in Anaheim. The staff has sent home all non-essential athletes that were training, choosing instead to focus their time on the athletes that they think have potential to challenge for Olympic and World Cup roster spots. The third year in a quad is way too late for Hancock to join the fray; there isn't even close to enough time to fix her setting.

Really glad to see Hodge's name pop up again. It's been way too long. I was hoping she'd make drastic improvements this quad but between injury and pregnancy, there's probably not much room for vball development. I'm curious to see how she handles this offense. As others have stated before, this fast tempo is tailor made for her. I guess the question always remains will she be able to pass well enough.
I like Robinson and Vansant but I don't think they have the potential to be game changers like Hodge.
I'm disappointed to not see Lloyd on the roster again. Is she just that far down on the depth charts?
N. Hagglund I've sorta excepted that she's not gonna get to the level she needs to be at to play in Rio. Her passing needs lots of work. She needs to figure out how to play middle back. And she needs more PT at the professional level.
Looking forward to seeing Kreklow in action. I hope they start using her more over Thompson.

Is there a list of athletes, not on these rosters, that ARE still training? women with a shot for 2016? Just curious.

Karch seems pretty committed to not use the jump serve for which Micha would be known for. While the quicker tempo should be to Hodge's liking I wonder how her passing looks. I think that will determine how much time she has on the court.

Can the season start already, so we can bash on player performances? . However, I wouldn't get to hyped with the new comers (Lowe; Vansant; Kreklow) they most likely will not get as much playing time (IhopeI'mwrong). Lauren is still on the roster... Sheesh.. Might as well invite Jennifer Doris.. I really hope Molly gets to play; I became a fan when she began her career in Germany. She will set them to gold in RIO! Gosh, I sound like "Kookoo".. And Welcome back Hodge!! I mean Easy! ;-)

Paolini is STILL on the NT? We are very weak in that position in my opinion. Give it a few years and we'll see a new breed there. I think most would say middle is our strongest position. Paolini does not have the overall game to contend for playing time, IMO. However, she does one thing exceptionally well - hit the slide - I wouldn't be surprised if she were the best we have at that (she was when Harmotto was out). There's value in having that in the gym and practicing against it.

I think that will determine how much time she has on the court. Agree, but I was thinking about the USA using Micha's serve to break open a 'tightly' contested match. Her lefty serve is quite different from other jump servers - a 'change of pace', and I doubt opponents can, or will take the time required to train for it. Plus having a lefty setter at the net when the setter is in the front row ties up a blocker longer. So I thought they might start training her in their current USA system over the next year.

The other concern with Hodge is she doesn't hit well out-of-system... which is particularly troublesome for a player who struggles passing. However, I'm so glad to see she's back in the game; she's one-of-a-kind. I don't see Vansant being a game changer and I could see her having some difficulty passing well internationally. Robinson has already proven she belongs IMO... she had stellar games at the World Cup and honestly, I don't see her that far behind Hill.

I'm curious to see how Vansant and Lowe contribute. Vansant is kind of untested with no professional experience under her belt. But she can pass and defend nearly as well as anyone on that rooster...and I know, that hasn't been done on the international level. However, I do believe her game translates as a six rotation player internationally.
